Location: Various Locations - USS Spirit of Winter
Timeline: 0900Hrs - May 29th 2392

Lieutenant Moni Nasao went into sickbay, as she knew this was coming as she went over to the nearby desk where an Andorian nurse was seated. "Hello, Lieutenant. Can I assist you?" she inquired politely

"Yes," Nasao responded. "I'm booked in for a medical checkup to see Windspirt."

"Ahh. Let me see... Name please?"

"Moni Nasao." the pregnant Caitian explained.

"Right." the Andorian responded as she went to work. "Yes. You're booked in for a prenatal checkup. Has anything changed?"

"I'm feeling... what I assume are contractions.."

"Right. Let me page Windspirit for you so we can get you looked at... Make sure all is well." as she tapped the display. "Front Desk to Windspirit. Lieutenant Nasao is here to see you."

Windspirit showed up moments later. "What is it."

The nurse turned to Windspirt. "Your Nine AM appointment has arrived, she might have an issue. Would you take a look at the Lieutenant?"

Windspirit nodded, noting that she could really smell the hormones coming off Moni now. "Sure." She went for her tricorder and started doing her check up." Yep, it's about time for you, want me to call Leadfoot over."

Nasao regarded the surgeon. "Sure. I know he would want to be here for this.." she responded.

Windspirit nodded, she herself was somewhat tired, having spent time caring for the casualties. She tapped her combadge, saying. "Windspirit to Leadfoot, Moni is about to have her babies, you may want to come."

Leadfoot acknowledged and Windspirit then said to Moni. "Well I don't want to rush you, but I'll be honest, Most of our medical personnel are helping with the Borg situation on B Kayor. We just can't spare a lot of people right now."

Nasao nodded. "I've seen that situation. It's getting stupid," she responded with a nod. "Come on kits... It won't be long now."

Moments later Leadfoot walked into Sickbay with their adopted daughter Ki'Skye. His fur was still a little dingy as he had been out playing with Kiskye and other Ferasian children.

Windspirit looked at Leadfoot, "So how was your little adventure on the planet." she inquired.

Leadfoot shrugged. "Eh, it was fun, got to drive around an Akurian Tank for a bit."

"Yeah. Considering the heart attack you gave me when you got shot down.." she responded in a dry tone of voice while she focused on pushing the kits out. "Uhhh..." she grunted softly. "Next time. you are having the kits.." the female of the species commented in a light tone, she then sighed softly.

Leadfoot was about to say something smart but got interrupted by a communication officer saying over the intercom. "Attention all medical personnel we have eleven incoming wounded, all medical personnel report to sickbay."

In an instant ten, badly wounded marines materialized in the middle of sickbay and one not so badly wounded marine, along with two medics. Reacting immediately, Windspirit tossed the tricorder to Leadfoot. "Sorry, gotta deal with this, it's up to you to do this now."

Leadfoot just barely managed to catch the tricorder while Windspirit rushed out of their room and went into the main sickbay area to attend to the emergency, emphasized by the screaming, moaning marines. Leadfoot moved to Moni's side, "Well this just took a turn for the interesting." Ki'Skye meanwhile looked out the door to see what all the commotion was.

Nasao blinked as the medics and orderlies began rushing into Sickbay to tend to it as the screams and cries of the wounded began to echo off the walls. "Is that what we're gonna call this?" Nasao inquired. "So.. How am I doing?" she regarded Leadfoot.

Leadfoot was unsure what the Tricorder was telling him. "Um, well, you're alive, and they are alive." The screaming in the other room started to annoy him, the loudest of which was a marine with nothing more than a shrapnel wound to his pinky finger, and none of the medics were paying attention to the man. So Leadfoot said to Ki'Skye, "Hey Ki'Skye. Could you shut the door?, they are loud in there."

Ki'Skye nodded and closed the door, which muffled the noise somewhat, but the high pitched loudmouth could still be heard. Leadfoot turned back to Moni, and with the tricorder not being of much help to him he had to check visually. Though he had seen Moni's privates plenty of times before, this one was certainly a new experience for him. "Well, I see a head, I think. Yeah, you're definitely alive, that's for sure."

Nasao tried not to chuckle but she failed rather dismally, what came out was her laughter before she settled down and resumed pushing the kits out of her body.

Leadfoot stayed close ready to take the kits as they came out while Ki'Skye stayed near Leadfoot, hugging his tail.

Nasao focused on what was before her, while she noticed Ki'Skye hugging Leadfoots large bushy tail, it amused her but she didn't try to prevent it. Instead, she pushed her newborn kits out, one at a time until the four of them were born and she could relax.

Leadfoot meanwhile took the time to get them cleaned up and make sure they were breathing, with Ki'Skye helping out, and soon enough, he handed two mewing Caitian kits off to Moni, while he held the third and Ki'Skye held the last one. All four had very dark snow leopard like fur patterns, prompting Leadfoot to comment. "Well, it looks like these little ones will definitely stand out."

Nasao beheld her two infants, one in each hand as she gently cuddled them close to her chest. "Hello, little ones... Today is your first day," she commented as she began purring gently. "I think... I will wait here for awhile..." Nasao managed a moment later.

For the first time, Leadfoot saw Ki'Skye with a smile on her face. As the Kit curiously touched her face, she looked up at Leadfoot saying. "She is so cute, what names are they getting."

Leadfoot shrugged. "I'm not sure," He looked over at Moni, "Any idea's"

Nasao paused before she began to speak. "For the eldest girl, Jalen." she pronounced the name as 'JAY-len'. "For the second eldest girl. Oneida." which she pronounced as 'o-NIED-e'. "The third.. which is the only male I believe. Tadita." Which she pronounced as 'tah-DEET-ah' "The youngest girl I'd like to name Cheyenne" which she, in turn, pronounced as 'shie-AN'. Nasao paused. "You okay with those?" she inquired of Leadfoot.

Leadfoot nodded. "Yep, I'm fine with that." After a short pause of just holding the warp purring kit in his arms, he then made a confession. "Well, I have been thinking about this for a while, but this latest getting shot down incident has finally convinced me, I've decided that my combat flying days are over."

Nasao regarded him, she knew what a large step this was for him. "Can I ask why?" she inquired as she regarded the young Caitian child in the room who wasn't saying anything as she suspected but she wasn't completely sure.

Leadfoot looked down at Cheyenne, the one he was holding. "Well, I lost my father before I was even born, and my mother died days before my tenth birthday, So I know better than most exactly what it is like being an orphan, I spent over a year on the streets before being picked up by an orphanage, but with my age then, I never got adopted, so I lived there until I was an adult. So I know what it is like being orphaned, and I don't want our kids, including Ki'Skye's siblings when we find them, to have to grow up without a parent. I don't want to have them go through what I did, and let's face it, anti-fighter weapons are getting deadlier and deadlier. If I keep flying, sooner or later, one of those missiles will have my name on it, and I won't get lucky enough to walk away from that one. Living through having three birds shot out from under me is enough."

"Fair enough... I mean I can tell you how deadly ordinance is getting." Nasao responded with a smile. "So... What job will you do?"

Leadfoot shrugged. "Not sure yet, If I want to I can drop my retirement paperwork and be out in a year, and since I am months away from having served a full 20 years I would still collect a full retirement paycheck, or I can take a job on the flight deck or in R&D. Though honestly of the two I would rather go for R&D. Fewer hours and more time to spend with the kids, which seeing as we are looking at having up to eight of them, the more time I can spare the better."

Nasao regarded him, she gently nodded her head. "Fair enough.." she responded. "That's assuming all goes well." she didn't say Ki'Skye's siblings in so many words but it was obvious.

Leadfoot pulled Ki'Skye towards him, while she let off a surprised purr. He then was about to say something else but a loud scream from the annoying private interrupted him. Peering out the door window Leadfoot commented. "Wow, newborn children are more well-behaved than that guy."

Nasao regarded the door with a look of disdain. "Unbelievable."
