Ezas sipped her drink. "Mmm... Torilla was telling me about how she liked Fordring." she regarded her twin. "You might get to work with her as your Chief medical officer on your next assignment."
Kerris smiled. "She didn't get Fordring as her Chief Medical Officer. I don't know how Torilla feels on that and I am not going to ask her." as she smiled, she moved to sit on her husband's lap, as he gently folded one of his arms around his wife's frame.
"Ah, let me explain something about Torilla. She appreciates pertinent and direct questions, she will not beat around the bush with you and she won't fuck with you either. Torilla is somewhat rather unique in this regard and you will either enjoy working with her, or you'll hate her." Ezas suddenly grinned at her twin. "There really is no middle ground with her," Ezas explained to her twin. Iteela nodded. "Torilla is very direct but also she's fair and good with children, she'd have to be with the small army of relatives she has who are directly related to her." Iteela sighed softly. "Subtlety is not a word I'd ever use with her as I don't think she has a subtle bone in her body," she added.
Kerris processed all of what she was being told. "I've heard a great many things about her from various people, many who have served with her before," she commented as Tienn Jaina looked curious, she lifted her drink as she asked. "Who's this Torilla person I keep hearing about?, since you ladies are discussing her, I figured I'd ask." the eldest female in the room asked her daughters while she sipped her drink.
"Torilla Yamaguchi is her name, she's a friend to my family," Ezas commented. "When we were all serving together on the Courageous, she would babysit for me on a regular basis." she slowly smiled. "This was a long time ago through and we've since remained in touch, I consider her a friend and if you knew her, you would too mom," she added.
Iteela nodded. "Yeah. After a drug incident on the USS Roanoke. I assaulted her eldest child, a fellow medical officer by the name of Elizabeth."
"I was wondering if you were ever going to tell us about what happened that day." Ezas inquired in a gentle tone, she knew how painful it was for her sibling to talk about these events. "I met Gyce that day too." she paused. "Go on with what you were saying."
"Yes..." Iteela paused. "We were having breakfast in the lounge, Gyce and I... She was my girlfriend at the time and we were dating before our careers put paid to it." she sighed. "I left my drink and someone spiked it with a concoctive mix of steroids and a psychotropic hallucinogen, it was designed to scare the crap out of whoever took it and give them a high at the same time. The trouble was, it was meant for Gyce... and I ended up with it instead and... I beat the crap out of Elizabeth, I very nearly destroyed her ability to walk and I nearly killed her baby at the same time. Kurt Lasky survived, no thanks to me, however."
"Lasky.. as in Tom Lasky?" Ezas paused, this was a surprise to her. "Wait, I didn't know those two were an item." she seemed confused more than surprised.
"It was an accident and Elizabeth was only carrying her brother to term for her mother. You see, Tom Lasky had impregnated Torilla and as she had various issues at the time, she couldn't carry the baby to term so rather than abort, Elizabeth offered instead." Iteela sighed softly.
"Elizabeth and her husband had been planning for their own children for some time and he was behind her all the way, Kameron Solusar-Yamaguchi could teach many guys I know about what it means to be manly," Nerra commented for the first time in over ten minutes. "I think its because of the fact that he refuses to argue with anyone over something he considers a waste of effort."
"Oh wow, he sounds like something," Ezas commented. "Neban is much like that, he doesn't say much but when he speaks, I listen as I find much of what he has to say, worth listening to. The big one is that he tolerates and endures my sense of humor." she turned back to Iteela. "Go on."
"What?" Iteela asked of her older sibling.
"If you don't tell it now, you never will..." Ezas paused as she smiled. "Tell them the rest."
Kerris leaned a little closer as she liberated for herself, a sandwich as she listened carefully, not interrupting as she regarded her younger sibling, she could see how hard this was for her to tell.
Iteela paused. "The worst part of it all... was that... I enjoyed it, I remember everything I did... I think that was tailored into the drug, specifically so I would remember who I hurt, and so I'd have to live with the shame of it."
Ezas recalled the events that her twin was talking about, quite well. "You are eager to fall on your sword."
"What happened was my fault," Iteela answered.
"You forget that I read the tox report on you that morning," Ezas answered quietly. "Your blood-alcohol levels were zip," she added. "You had been poisoned with a-" was as far as she got before Iteela interrupted. "It doesn't matter. I remember it all, I enjoyed beating the crap out of a pregnant woman and I must live with the shame of it. I can't even seek vengeance as the asshole who did the crime is already dead."
Tienn Jaina regarded her daughter. "You are being too hard on yourself... Did you and this Elizabeth person have problems before?"
"No. We got on quite well actually." Iteela answered. "Her sister, however, does not let me know any peace, she believes that the drug explanation is false and that I deliberately enjoyed it," she added, knowing full well what her siblings would say on the subject.
Ezas raised an eyebrow. "She did, huh?" she inquired in a low growl.
Corat regarded his elder half-sister who was old enough to be his mother, as he moved a little further away from her, clearly intimidated.
"Yes, Rachael did. She has made her feelings on this matter very clear." Iteela explained. "Why?"
"I will deal with her, myself." Ezas sounded truly annoyed as she glanced over at her own twin. "Or do you want her?"
"Oh no. I'll leave this one, with you. I don't need to pick a fight with her only to anger her mother." Kerris commented as she polished off her sandwich. "Mmmm. Suvek, you should have been a chef."
"Thank you, I endeavor to please." were the first words that Suvek had spoken in almost twenty minutes as Kerris gently adjusted how she was sitting on her husband's lap, he was clearly used to his and she didn't mind either. "But may I recommend that you consider what you wish to say to Ms. Yamaguchi-Cullen before you confront her, this way you are able to keep things professional and not let your personal feelings get in the way."
"Yeah, I'll do that." Ezas knew what Suvek was saying and why he was saying it, it wasn't for the fun of his health and it wasn't for his amusement either and the Bajoran woman did not need to like what he was saying, but she did respect him for what he was saying. "I'm sorry.." Ezas sighed softly.
"For what?" Tienn Jaina inquired of her eldest female child. "There is nothing wrong with admitting the nature of your heart, or the fact that someone has wronged a member of your family and you wish to address the wrong." she paused. "However, I recommend that you do not go in uniform and when you deal with her, that you not make this official with your commands."
"Good plan mom, I'll do that," Ezas answered.
"I'll go with you," Kerris answered. "I need to know the daughter of my new Captain, its best I get both out of the way as soon as I can."
