Mission:
Mission 79: Sound Trumpets! Let Our bloody Colors Wave
Location: Over the Gorn Homeworld
Timeline: 1200Hrs - April 12th, 2392
Captain Torilla Yamaguchi watched the display on the main screen as an errant Klingon fighter exploded due to a warhead strike from the Courageous herself, her fighters buzzed around her like angry bees shaken from a disturbed hive as the Klingon fighter swarm pulled back. "Do not go after them... They are baiting a trap." Torilla commented quietly.
Her order was relayed to the Starfighters around the Courageous as Pava Sh'Andoo was seated off at the communications station on the far left of the bridge, she had a Feinberg receiver in her right ear which she tapped once. It was a small silver item that was commonly used by communications officers in the last century but Sh'Andoo was called by many to be a throwback to a rougher time, a darker time that seemed to be coming again for the Federation. She turned to address Torilla. "Skipper... Klag is ordering his men to break off their assault, they are conceding the orbital space to us for now." the Andorian Shen explained.
"Lovely," Yamaguchi responded in a deadpan tone of voice. "Land our birds."
Sh'Andoo turned back to her display. "Willdo," she responded.
Meanwhile, Morales tapped his display located at his right hand. "Sickbay says six wounded, all relatively minor."
"For now." Nathan Duhamel commented quietly.
"Yeah.." Morales agreed.
"Alright. Let's keep sickbay available... and keep an eye out for more of those Klingon bastards.." Yamaguchi commented as she tapped her display. "Engineering, report?"
"All is well down here skipper... Courageous handled herself well. Numerous Klingons made unwanted advances upon her but she held her honor well."
Yamaguchi paused as she had a mental image of her younger daughter fighting off roughly a dozen men, she blinked as she pushed the image out of her mind with a gentle but helpful shove. "I'd say she did fine," Yamaguchi responded.
Morales chuckled softly. "Such enthusiasm Torilla," he responded.
Yamaguchi rose to her feet as she kept her attention on the tactical display on the main viewscreen before her and everyone else on the bridge. "Well I'm not after a long bloody war but... hey if the Klingons want to take us on... I want to break them... and destroy them."
Morales regarded the skipper, a soft smile playing on his lips. "You're not a battleship skipper... You're a little too subtle for that Mon Cherie."
he then chuckled softly.
Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow, while she regarded the display. "Klag... what are you up to." the tall female inquired of the viewscreen, she narrowed her eyes as she did so.
Morales moved to stand next to the tall female. "Whatever he's doing.. We will see soon enough."
Yamaguchi nodded. "Indeed." she turned her head to regard her Tactical officer. Lieutenant Commander Nathan Duhamel. "Stand down to condition yellow.. but keep your eyes peeled... Just in case the Klingons do something"
"Aye Captain." Duhamel touched his displays as he carried out the skipper's orders in silence.
Yamaguchi turned, she then tapped the display on her armrest. "Bridge to Engineering. Talk to me Goose?"
The dulcet tones of Commander Rachael Falanner came back over the com system. "Nothing much is happening down here skipper, we came through with mostly shield damage but I'm sending two teams to go deal with the damage reported on decks ten and nineteen." the female responded.
"How long before that's resolved?" Morales inquired.
"It could just be a glitch with the sensors because we don't know what the issue is down here." came the unexpected response from Falanner
"Wait... that's your expert opinion?" Yamaguchi inquired.
"The Klingons are throwing new weapons at us skipper. I'll know more shortly... and then I can brief you. Falanner out." as the comline went dead.
Yamaguchi turned to Sh'Andoo who was watching the Halanan female expectantly. "Find out what you can about the new Klingons weapons and tactics... I've heard too much about Klag to assume he's just going to be another dud."
"I'm on it." and with that the Andorian turned and went to work, carrying out Torilla's request as the older woman slid her form back into her command chair. "Maybe I'm just being an old paranoid who needs to get laid... But I have a bad feeling about this.?"
"You mean like sprinkling of small stones that starts an avalanche??" Morales inquired.
"Not quite," Yamaguchi answered quietly. "This is the calm before the storm... So.. let's make the most of this time... and do something about our situation... Just in case."
"Yes skipper," Morales answered with a smile.
