Red vs Blue - The Bloodgulch Chronicles

Posted on Sat Mar 7th, 2020 @ 2:07am by Division Admiral Thomas Lasky & Captain Javier Morales & Commander John 'Nuke Em' Sheridan & Commander Yuri Denisov & Lieutenant Commander Kthaara 'Leadfoot' Taavoro & Commodore Korelii MacRae & Commodore Teyo Kemoke & Fleet Captain Torilla Yamaguchi & Colonel Miranda 'Coop' Cooper & Colonel Anthony "Ironhide" Raynor

Mission: Mission 71: Orion's Hounds
Location: B Kayor system
Timeline: Mar 22nd 2392

ReK'miras snow river got himself ready for the upcoming exercise, though he found himself having a hard time caring. Wanting to distance himself as much from his moron CO as possible, he decided he would take part in the exercise from the crew compartment of a command and control Wallace class. he didn't expect the exercise to go well at all, but he decided that he would still attempt to make a good showing.

Meanwhile, from B Kayor's orbital control station Myzar Zinov observed the exercise along with April Yamaguchi, Nevanzi, and several other high ranking officers.

April Yamaguchi was seated in her chair with a rather large mug of hot chocolate in her right hand and a bag of popcorn in her left, clearly she was settling in for what she expected to be a good show.

Meanwhile on the bridge of the USS Courageous. Captain Torilla Yamaguchi was seated in her command chair, she had the tactical display on the viewscreen. "Mmm... I see Miranda Cooper is being subtle," she responded. "Korelli is going along with it.." she paused as she narrowed her eyes.

"Something the matter skipper?" Morales inquired.

"Something about Captain McKnight bugs me... She kinda looks a bit like my mom.. but she's not related to me.." she paused, sounding like she didn't quite believe it. "Something for me to look into."

Morales nodded. "We're almost ready to start..."

Yamaguchi nodded, snapping out of her funk, the battle awaited before her and now was not the time for nameless fears. "Is my ship ready?" Yamaguchi inquired formally.

"The Courageous is fully at your command Captain." Morales gave her the traditional answer.

"Alright... launch all starfighters and signal command that we are ready to proceed."

Meanwhile over on the Hermies. In the tactical plotting center on the Hermes. Miranda Cooper smiled. "Stand by to attack guys." she comed her fighter pilots. "Looks like our old friend isn't being very smart... Remember its ten minutes to curtain."

The various pilots on blue team watched their displays as they prepared for the battle to come.

On the bridge of the USS Hermes. Captain Korelli McKnight narrowed her eyes as she regarded her sister's ship as her starfighters came pouring out of her hangers like a hive of bees that had been disturbed. "So.. Torilla my sweet... What are you up to...." she asked softly.

Denisov turned his head, while he regarded his skipper with a gentle smile. "I am sure she will reveal herself soon enough... Its not like her little cruiser-carrier can handle a Heavy carrier like ourselves.."

"I've learned to never ignore my siblings tactical skill.. or the famed Yamaguchi resourcefulness... No. Torilla is up to something.. Mark my words.."

Denisov smiled. "We can always take Courageous out of the battle early..."

"No. Stick to the objectives as listed... No need to freelance and cause problems." McKnight responded. "If we complete the primary objective.. We can always go say hi to my sibling."

"I didn't know you had one..." Denisov responded quietly.

"Its actually quite complicated. I will tell you the full tale later... Torilla also thinks she's an only child.. she's not. She has an older sister... Me."

"Ahh... I look forward to it." Denisov responded.

"Hail all Team Blue ships. Have them check in.." McKnight smiled. "I want to be prepared... How long?"

"Still nine minutes before kick off." Denisov responded, quoting a soccer reference as he sent the message to all Blue Team ships.

McKnight smiled, her executive officer always made life interesting and he wasn't boring to have around either.

Ryuukei got his ship prepared, making sure to plant the Ryazar's shield between the base and the enemies most likely direction of attack.

Over on the other team, K'miras took a quick muster of his forces. He could hear the displeasure in the voices of a lot of officers, especially when the shrilly voice of Xiaxx came over the comm making some painfully obvious statement. Xiaxx wasn't a captain obvious, he was a grand marshal of the obvious.

Meanwhile on the Courageous. Captain Torilla Yamaguchi regarded the display before she tapped the com display at her right position of her chair. "K'miras. You guys all set over there... and hows the weather looking?"

K'Miras nodded. "Yeah, as best I will ever be, and with one hell of a hangover."

"Alright." Yamaguchi signed off as she turned her attention back to the tactical plot. "Any minute now, we will go into battle... the pilots will be pleased and I won't be."

Teval was looking like he really didn't want to be here knowing what disaster was about to unfold. However all the pilots managed to take off without incident and Xiaxx promptly sent all of them heading towards the enemy fleet.

Lasky was sitting in his chair next to Teval. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid but... I am starting to really hate old blue dome over there." it was the pilots nickname for Xiaxx behind his back. Another name was 'Ole baldy.'

Teval didn't say anything to Lasky, instead he said to Wukari over the comm. "How are those drones doing."

Wukari checked her systems saying. "Well, they look a lot better off now, doesn't look like they will teamkill someone this time."

The response over the com system was quick. "That will be a nice change..." came the expected dry wit of Ironhide's voice. "I'm suprised I've not died for real yet." he added a moment later

"The day is still young Ironhide."

"Thank you, Commander Lasky, when did you become such a killjoy.?"

"Since fate saw fit to place my ass in this chair rather then that chair.." Lasky sighed. "I sometimes wish I had never left fighter corps.."

Ironhide winced. "Ouch." he paused. "Yeah skipper the drones are looking alright... for now anyway.." he addressed Wukari.

Leadfoot didn't say much as he led his wing, he simply wanted to get this over with. Once all fighters where formed up the Bolian commander's shrilly voice came over the comm, ordering all their fighters to head straight for the enemy, with Roanoke, Courageous and Argonne fighters leading, all equipped with heavy ECM loadouts.

Sideswipe then commentated over the comm. "Why do we have to be the meatshields."

Ironhide's response was simple. "Because other people think they are smarter then us... when in fact idiot boy is the one who's setting us up to die... Our lives mean nothing." the pilots hatred of fighter corps crystallized and turned from a thought into a real object with tangible heft in one smooth motion. "This is gonna be my last hop... After this. I'm resigning my commission... I'm done."

Wukari didn't say anything as the large group headed for their objective.

Kmiras was observing the situation from the EWAC Flyer, and over a half an hour passed and yet no sign of the enemy fighters, even when they where only a few minutes away from the defensive envelope of the opposing base. K'Miras tried to pull some of the EWAC flyers off the line to cover their rear, But Xiaxx insisted on sticking them out near the front where they would be vulnerable. K'miras then quickly figured out what was going on, they where flying right into an ambush, and Xiaxx insisted on sending them straight into it.

"Guys, watch out we are flying straight into an ambush, shift to a defensive formation.,"

"Belay that," Xiaxx commanded, They left their battlecruiser wide open, take it out, follow the plan."

K'mitras growled and everything went to hell the moment the first missiles started flying, coming from right behind their formation.

Ironhide growled. "Idiot Bolian, when this exercise is over.. I am going to hunt you down and I am going to fucking murder your worthless ass.." the trouble was that Ironhide forgot that most of the pilots present couldn't hear him as there was heavy jamming present.

Lasky heard it as he paused. "I almost can't make out any of the chatter..." he muttered. "I wonder if thats by design?"

"Oh shit.." Torilla Yamaguchi responded as she observed the missile warhead swarm intercept the starfighter force, she winced as she turned away clearly unable to watch. "Ooouuucchhh." she moaned softly.

"You okay?." Morales noticed her discomfort.

"When this is over...I'm going to find Rachael, hug her and tell her I love her." Torilla said quietly. "she was a pilot and... I." she sighed softly.

"You're thinking that this was real and she's in that conflagration."

"Yes." Yamaguchi answered simply.

"Arrgghh!" Ironhide snarled something in a foreign language. "Xiaxx... You are gonna pay for this... You fucking bastard!" he screamed as a warhead landed and his screen went black as block red text appeared on his display. "YOU ARE DEAD." as the man went bananas. "This is BULLSHIT!" he screamed at the top of his lungs, however his radio was dead and nobody could hear him.

Things got worse for the airwing when the battlecruiser started firing missiles at the fighters. Despite their jammers being at max power, the missiles easily found them and took them out, far too easily. Xiaxx had failed to give any orders at all, so K'miras took command of the situation, all fighter groups form up on me, attack the guys behind us, stay away from that battlecruiser."

He then figured out what was up with the Battlecruisers missiles after scanning one. They weren't emitting a sensor signal at all, they where just homing in on the jamming pods. K'miras then issues his next order, All EWAC and fighters with Jammer pods, turn off your jammers, they are using the jamming signals to home in on.

The Airwing managed to rally and sure enough, once pilots started turning their jammers off, some of the missiles would lose their target lock.

Ryuukei whom was on the battlecruiser dishing out a lot of the punishment, commented. "Ah, so he has figured it out."

Torilla Yamaguchi turned back as she resumed watching, she was still clearly rattled by assuming Rachael had just died a glorious but rather futile death at the hands of a madman. "That Bolian... is going to suffer for this." she growled. "Whats the status of our airwing?"

"About forty percent skipper."

"All those planes... all those pilots.. in one fell swoop." Yamaguchi growled. "When I get my hands on that bastard.. I'm going to pop his head off of his shoulders."

Meanwhile Ironhide sighed softly as he gently re-engaged his thrusters as he turned his fighter about, his next stop was his home ship before he would finish the paperwork he had spent most of the previous evening writing and preparing. Now his mind was made up and nothing was going to budge him on the matter. "Good luck guys... with that useless Bolian around... you'll need it." before he along with several dozen other birds began landing on their respective command ships.

Xiaxx was unable to direct his forces at all so he turned to his two loyal officers, Yaish Ragit and Strelk," Alright, I need you two to get into a Flyer and regain control of the situation."

The two officers nodded and left the makeshift command center, heading for Alaska's hangar bay, which was serving as the makeshift command base for the team.

Moments later Strelk's voice came over the Comm. "Sir, the Deck boos reports that the only delta flyer they have is unserviceable, but the engines seem to work."

Xiaxx growled. "I don't care, go out there anyway."

The Deck boss complained over the Comm," That bird is not ready to fly, and I Refuse to let it out."

Xiaxx fumed and marched over to the flight control tower, getting int he deck bosses face," You your relieved."

The Caitian deck bosses fur puffed up. "Buddy, this isn't your ship, you dont have the authority."

Xiaxx pointed at the door," GET OUT, NOW OR I WILL HAVE YOUR COMMISSION."

The Deck boss stood his ground, while Strelk calmly walked up behind him and performed the nerve pinch, causing the caitian to fall to the ground unconscious.

Xiaxx turned to Strelk saying. "Thank you Strelk, you may proceed to the Flyer."

Strelk nodded and went to the flyer. Moments later the shuttle started up, and proof that she was a deck queen, the flyer released a bit of warp plasma from the Nacelle. Xiaxx didn't care or even really notice, as he opened the hangar doors, allowing the flyer to leave.

Yaish Ragit took the controls of the flyer, and he managed to bring the struggling shuttle out of the hangar deck, confident in his ability to control the wobbly, warp plasma spewing vehicle.

Meanwhile Ironhide was heading for the USS Alaska as he needed to land, the rules of the exercise said he needed to land within a specific timeframe so he was following the regulations. "Alaska, tower this is... what the hell.... SHIT!" Ironhide roared as he watched as Delta Flyer come right at him with such speed there was no chance of him avoiding a collision.

Yaish ragit tried desperately to control his flyer and then he started screaming over the comm for Ironhide to get out of the way, but at the last moment, something in the flyer broke and it spiraled straight into Ironhide's fighter, its nacelle smashed into Ironhide's right wing. The flyer spun completely out of control, only to be caught by the nearest gravity well, the moon they where orbiting. with the flyers power systems wrecked, Ragit had no ability to prevent the flyer from spiraling into the moons surface, pancaking itself and exploding. All the warp plasma interference had unfortunately prevented any of the surrounding hips form beaming Ragit or Strelk out.

Ironhide fought with his now crippled bird. "Mayday mayday. I;'ve been damage din a collision with a... broke something... a Flyer I think.." as he rattled off his needs. "Someone grab me in a tractor beam... please?"

Meanwhile the rest of the fleet was watching all of these events take place in real time. "Torilla blinked. "What the hell... was that runabout belching warp plasma... and who was flying that shuttle anyway... My granddaughter could do a better job then that.." the Halanan female muttered to herself, while they watched the Alaska and her crew rescue Ironhide's now crippled bird.

Once the fire was out and Ironhide's feet touched the deck, his legs went out from under him as he yanked off his helmet in time to throw up. "Uuuhh..." He'd killed one of his own today.

Xiaxx, realizing his mistake, attempted to slink out of the Hangar deck and head back to his command center, intent on denying everything. Meanwhile, Teyo who was on the bridge turned to John Sheridan, Can you go down to the hangar bay and find out what happened.

Sheridan nodded. "Yeah. willdo skipper." and with that the man turned and departed off of the bridge, arriving at his destination moments later where he found the unconscious Caitian officer. Sheridan gently revived the downed deck boss. "Hey, El Tee... What happened here?"

The Deck boss got to his feet saying. "I'm not sure. I refused to allow those fighter corps people to take out the deck queen but the Vulcan guy came up from behind me and applied that nerve pinch. I'm not sure where the Bolian officer went."

Sheridan paused before he tapped his combadge, calling in a security team. "No worries El Tee... We'll get this mess straightened out... The hangar queen collided with a fighter coming in for a landing and now the hangar queen has been...removed from creation, it's been destroyed." he explained, as a half dozen security personnel showed up. "You called for us sir?"

"Yeah, one of you take this man's statement and the rest of you, download the records and find out what happened here," Sheridan explained.

The deck boss looked a little depressed. "Damn, I kinda liked that deck queen."

Sheridan nodded as his guys downloaded the information they needed. "Fair enough El Tee... Would you mind heading down to sickbay and getting yourself looked over... I'm going to want a medical report on what happened.."

The Deck boss nodded and left.
