Mission:
Mission 63: Second Nature
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - Feburary 20th, 2392
Command Sergeant Major Jeff Duval sighed softly as he felt bored and worse, he felt empty too, he was not enjoying this assignment and nor was he enjoying the work, he missed the Marines and he decided that the time had come and while he had enjoyed the assignment he was doing, he needed to go back to the Marines as he didn't feel right shining a chair with his ass all the damn time.
Duval picked up a PADD what thankfully was not being used for anything and he began typing out his request, it would take him several attempts before he had a letter worthy of sending.
He turned his head as the com system beeped at him. Duval turned as he tapped the display wondering who it was who was wanting his attention, it could have been his supplier for the Akurian and Caitian plushies that were still selling at a brisk trade, while not the great hit that they were, they still sold well and helped Duval to get his name out there.
Duval was not expecting the sight of his wife's face as it appeared on the screen before him, she instantly smiled as she greeted him. "Hello I greet you."
"Hello T'Nae." Duval responded with a smile all his own. "How are things?"
T'Nae's smiling face changed little but a smiling Vulcan looked odd at times, however Duval didn't mind in the slightest. "Things with me and the little ones are well." she explained briefly about the twins who were basically being little terrors who were causing the usual hassle and havoc that children that age normally caused.
Duval smiled warmly at his wife. "I've missed them... and you."
"I know... I make so as I have the time to devote to them where as you don't." the Vulcan female responded knowingly. "Did you make a decision yet?"
"I did.... and I just submitted my paperwork on the matter." Duval responded. "I just... can't sit here all day, every day. I feel like I'm on vacation. I joined Starfleet to be a Marine and I can still make a difference to some units that frankly need me.... Roanoke doesn't anymore and neither does her battlegroup."
"A Change of venue and pace can only be a good thing where you are concerned, my husband... I've known you would come to this decision sooner or later, as you are a man of action and not of words... Fortunately, I know someone who can help you run your new business empire. A capable friend of mine... I will send her to you as she is in the same place as you delivering a consignment of medical supplies." the Vulcan woman then grinned at her husband. "I believe she is looking for work."
"Excellent.. I'll look over her credentials and go from there." Duval responded as he regarded his wife with a smile, from the delicate tips of her ears to the roundness of her face. He missed her.
"Thank you my husband. I look forward to hearing who you choose for the position."
"Well.. I was going to let you know anyway but then this is me your talking to."
T'Nae nodded her head. "When are you going to resolve the issue with Suvak.?"
"It was over a misunderstanding T'Nae.. He didn't like how an argument was going between myself and Anthony... Even Anthony was confused by how stupid the situation got."
"I'll sort it out with him... Somehow... I just don't know how.."
"At least try... Thats all I can ask." T'Nae responded evenly. "Right.. I had best leave you to it.." and with that she disconnected.
Duval knew his wife wasn't one for long winded speeches or long goodbyes either which at times he appreciated, like now.
