Shadows and Shards - Part Three

Mission: Mission 57: The Northern Lights
Location: Planet surface - Niven Colony
Timeline: 1100Hrs - January 15th - 2392

Commander Celeste Yamaguchi was at this point in time wearing only a simple bathing suit as she floated in the hotel's pool, the area was almost empty as there were several other people using the hotel and the surrounding beaches.

Celeste for herself was wearing a dark red one piece suit that covered her features well but it couldn't hide the fact that she was pregnant.

Celeste found herself staring up at the empty skies, it was all blue at the present time but the weather forecast later called for rain, it didn't help that the hotel was set in the middle of the tropical storm zone for this world and she had heard once again that there was a Hurricane brewing out in the gulf area.

"Hey" the bartender of the floating bar addressed her as he didn't know is she was asleep or just floating there. "You okay?"

Celeste blinked as she regarded him. "Mm.... Sorry I was just thinking."

"I know... I could see you staring past stars I imagine you flew past yesterday." the bartender responded evenly. "Why don't you come on over here and I'll buy you a drink."

"I can't drink anything alcoholic... I'm .. expecting." Yamaguchi sighed.

"Thats fine. I don't just serve alcohol. I serve a wide selection of drinks.... so what can I get for you?" he inquired with a smile as Celeste stood up and came over, he was treated to a view of her ample figure as a smile crossed his face.

"Just a glass of water please." she requested as she stopped at the bar.

The barkeep nodded his head as he selected a glass then he made her a glass of water, before handing it to her. "You look... like someone who's carrying a lot of weight.."

"I just got... stuff on my mind." Celeste responded quietly.

"Care to share?" the barkeep inquired, a soft smile on his lips. "There are two people in the world who will keep your secrets.. Your Doctor and your bartender. I happen to be one of the second."

Celeste regarded him as she lifted the glass to her lips, she then drained the entire glass in one smooth motion before she paused but then she shrugged. "Alright... Well its like this.." and with that out of the way, she launched into her story as he stood and listened to her explain herself and her story.

For an hour he listened, nodding in places to let her know he was listening as she spoke, he poured her several glasses of water but he was quiet and did not interrupt her. "and thats how... it happened." Yamaguchi explained.

"Thats a lot for anyone to handle. You should be commended for being able to deal with it."

"But I'm not... I'm hiding from my pain..."

"But you are able to talk about it with strangers..." the bartender responded gently. "Thats something at least, it also shows you're facing it.."

"But you're different." Yamaguchi responded.

"No, you are." the bartender smiled at her. "I'd be willing to bet good money that your lady looks to you for strength when she needs someone to lean on.."

"But I don't know what I'm doing wrong."

"Nothing... You're doing nothing wrong... Look for solutions from within Celeste, the truth will attend to itself... and you will find your way..." he explained. "Even if you don't realize it. you will figure your path and have your child... even if he was unwanted or unplanned, he will have one major advantage..... He has you for his mother."

"Thats... whats Brianna said.." Yamaguchi admitted softly.

"Was she wrong to believe in you?" the barkeep inquired. "Do you believe in yourself?" he added further.

Celeste drained the last of her drink as she frowned. "Of course I believe in myself." she paused. "Just believing in anything good can come from this.."

The barkeep placed another glass before her. "Look, either you can do something about it... or run from it.. but if you don't mind my asking... run to where?"

"I... I dunno."

"Then stand and face it here... I mean its a nice location, warm tropical beaches, pleasant scenery. Three moons that you can see almost all hours of the day and the nights aren't too cold." he explained. "Niven just has a bad rep because of the crap with the Betazed government.."

Yamaguchi regarded the bartender who's name she didn't know. "I heard about that.. my guys are handling things."

"Well thats good to know.. We did have a few teams of Engineers coming through doing some work about preparing us for an ice age.." he paused. "Could a planet actually freeze like that?"

Yamaguchi nodded. "Oh yes.. Given the right kind of events and circumstances, yes its possible for a planet like this to freeze over but... It takes a lot.. and Niven won't go that far... The landmasses in the north and the south all but prevent it... You've got the central ocean basin wrapping this planet's equatorial region, so you got a warm water reserve which will ensure some of this planet stays warm." Celeste explained. "Well... at least thats how it was explained to me." she then gave him a sheepish smile.

"Fair enough.." he regarded her. "I'm not worried about the planet.. I'm worried about you."

"Don't be.. The various gods out there all know that I have many people worried about me as it is."

"Yes..." The bartender regarded her. "But still.." he then slowly smiled.
"You ever consider therapy?"

"What kind?" Celeste raised an eyebrow. "the mental, spiritual or physical.... Sex is good."

"It is... Yes." Yamaguchi smiled. "However.."

"Mind if I offer my two cents?" the barkeep responded.

"Sure.." Yamaguchi responded, clearly intrested in what he had to say.

"Go find your girl, take her to your bed and fuck her senseless." The barkeep smiled. "However... try to remember that she didn't cause your issues... You will need to deal with those at some point yourself."

Yamaguchi sighed as he gently reassured her. "You are able to cope with it... After all, you were able to tell it to me. Thats hopeful.."

Yamaguchi regarded the barkeep. "I should go.. I have a dinner appointment with Brianna.."

"Alright... You take care okay..."

Yamaguchi nodded before she turned away, she then dove under the water, she then reached the edge of the pool and she pulled herself out of the pool, also she knew that she was presenting a lovely view of her ass to the bartender before she turned her head, she then blew him a kiss before she took a moment to adjust her suit, she picked up her towel before she wrapped it around her midsection.

With that she picked up her bag and she departed the pool area in silence.
