Mission:
Mission 49: The Stars Look Down
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 1100Hrs - November 9th, 2391
Major Tienn Nerra was seated at her desk doing paperwork, when she found a report that she had submitted about Operation Bedlam which had taken place a month earlier as she found herself going back in time down memory lane, what she had said to Chen Dulari when the other woman interupted her paperwork.
Tienn was drafting her preliminary report on the mission that had just taken place and its numerous failings and shortcomings when her door beeped at her.
"Its Open!" the smaller Bajoran woman called out.
The door opened and in walked an Andorian Shen who was taller then she was but over half a foot. "Sir, the final casualty reports you asked for."
"Alright.." as she held out her hand, which the Andorian placed a PADD into it, considering his size and stature, one would expect anything other than the gentle placement of the PADD into her superior's hand but Chen had been shaken up by the last assignment, she had survived whereas most did not.
The ground casualties had been downright horrific with over sixty percent killed in action with another five percent wounded. USS Argonne's marine force had been all but destroyed while the other ships had all taken moderate to heavy casualties. Forty or so of Dreamcrusher's marines had also fallen as casualties of the mission that was in her humble opinion, a downright disaster.
"How are you coping Chen?" Tienn indicated the chair across from her. "Its been a long week for us all... a shitty one too."
"I'm... I think I'm okay... I mean I came out without a scratch and a lot of marines got killed ... for what?"
"I have no idea." Tienn responded, opting to not share the news about the Iconian gateway that had been recovered during the mission , she lifted her drink to her lips as she drained a mouthful of Andorian Spicewater, she allowed the coolness to refresh her. "The Andorian's sure know how to make drinks." as the smaller woman sat back in her chair.
"Sir, its against the regulations to drink alcohol while on duty, I mean if something were to go wrong then it could cause problems with Bajoran brain processing and-"
Tienn chuckled softly in a amusement. "Its just flavored water Chen, I never drink on duty.... However.. if I were to make an exception... it would be because of yesterday. Would you not agree?"
The Andorian looked at Tienn, somewhat confused before she quickly nodded. "Yes yes... I would agree."
"You've never really.... had a drink of booze... have you?"
"I can't stomach the stuff.." the Andorian shen admitted. "Plus I don't like that it leaves me out of control at times."
Tienn regarded her. "I like the fact that it kills of specific brain cells linked to memory that I don't want or need to keep." as she polished off her flavored water. "If you've never had it... then how can you know what it does to you."
"I've been involved in a poly-water outbreak while serving on the USS Roanoke last year."
"Ahh.." Tienn responded. "Well... that was poly-water intoxication.... Its not the same thing."
"Intoxication is Intoxication, its all the same thing... right?"
"Depends on who you ask." Tienn responded. "I was on the Shadow at that time, her skipper was busy having sexual relations with her sister. Trouble was they got caught and the two were punished for it... quite harshly from what I hear." the smaller woman shrugged. "But hey... I believe both women stuck in for early retirement or so I heard. The Shadow was hauled back to spacedock and her crew was reassigned. Commander Maxwell was cashiered out of Starfleet for a whole slew of charges which they were gonna nail him... but he opted to resign and leave in disgrace.... Better then he deserved."
"Don't remind me." the taller Andorian responded evenly.
"I'd better get on with these letters.. Excuse me Chen."
The Andorian stood up. "Thanks for the chat sir."
"No worries.. dismissed. "
"Sir." the Andorian came to rigid attention before executing a quick about face before marching out he door, leaving Tienn to her work and to her misery.
