Mission:
Mission 40: Thirty Pieces of Silver
Location: Various Locations - USS Toronto
Timeline: 1100Hrs - August 9th, 2391
Captain Bolvar Fordragon, who was known affectionately as the 'Highlord' would soon be departing via Runabout for his newest assignment, the Guardian class starship. USS Lethal Shadow, with him, would be Commander Torilla Yamaguchi who had been leaving out of her suitcase for the better part of a week.
Her quarters were already empty and Jake had already departed for his temporary home aboard the USS Dreamcrusher as he still had two weeks before he needed to leave for Watchman Station.
Commander L'Ruan regarded her Commanding Officer with a measure of trepidation while Commander Franklin Davis smiled, this was a guy who was clearly in a happy place.
"Normally we gather in dress uniform and listen while I rattle off boring and dry stuff which all of you could honestly care less about... and since this is my final act as Commander of this vessel. I'm going to say a few words then bore you to tears with this." Fordragon explained. "Commander L'Ruan step forward."
The Vulcan woman did so, moving forward a few paces.
"I hereby promote you to the rank of Junior Captain." as he produced a single black pip which he pilled to her neck, next to the three solid ones. "Computer, transfer command codes to Captain L'Ruan. Authorization Fordragon Two Two Nine Juliet Bravo."
"Command Codes transferred to Captain L'Ruan."
"I relieve you sir."
"I stand relieved.." Fordragon responded. "The Toronto is yours now... Take good care of her and your people... for they are yours now... I will miss them, you... and this ship.." as he indicated the second person. "This is Franklin Davis, he was commanding the USS Tribal and now he is your new Exec... Starfleet decided not to give you the choice which I felt was insulting."
"I will survive Bolvar." L'Run responded quietly. "Know that you will be missed."
Torilla stood in silence throughout the entire affair as the Highlord turned to her. "Torilla... you have about eight months of shore leave saved up.. take a couple of months... I will see you in two months time before I ship out for my first assignment."
Had she known the horror of what was coming to her, she would have refused and left with him but instead, she didn't know so she nodded. "Thank you Highlord.. I'll enjoy sunning myself on a beach somewhere." before she turned and went out the side entrance while the Highlord departed out the other entrance.
