Flight Cadet Rachael Yamaguchi was enraged over what had happened to Saki and her friend Sarah in the school two days ago as she gently comforted her daughter as Saki had explained to her exactly what had happened earlier.
Saki and Sarah were both sitting at the kitchen table, the schoolwork before them as Rachael was standing before Ennis in the master bedroom. "Ennis, what are we gonna do now?" she was sitting on the bed wearing only a gown wrapped around her, she was still wet from her long hot shower.
"Lieutenant Benice offered to homeschool several children from the planet you and Saki were stuck on," Ennis pointed out gently as he came over and began to massage Rachael's shoulders.
"I should have looked deeper into the ratheap of a school they have on this ship..." Rachael sighed, her anger clear as glass in her voice.
"I should've too... But me girl is a stubborn one and wanted to fight her battles alone," Ennis spoke dully. "Maybe homeschooling is the only solution for some of these kids."
Rachael was tired as she slowly sat forward. "Well... at least the girls have each other... Mom told me about what happened, so did Gyce..." she paused. "When Elizabeth came to greet me in the transporter room, her rage was palpable." she was suddenly thankful that they had locked the door as she shrugged out of her robe to reveal her naked body. "wow, was she ever pissed..." Rachael sighed. "Seeing Elizabeth Yamaguchi in a state of enraged is never a good thing. ever..." Rachael added softly.
"Oh I believe it," Ennis laughed. "You sister had quite the rep in the Academy... So what happened?"
"Apparently, one of the brats who beat Sarah, hit Elizabeth with a baseball bat." Rachael explained. "She's presently looking into legal action against the kids parents."
"Sarah doesn't want to talk about... Not sure what's goin' on with the lass."
Rachael nodded her head as she slowly dried off. "I could try talking with her?" she inquired. "Or.. we could let Saki say a few words.."
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Saki had gone over to the replicator, she had gotten herself and Sarah a couple of drinks in addition to the large Great White North Pizza that the two had been served. "Here you go." and with that, Saki handed the other girl a large glass of orange punch.
"You alright?"
"Yeah... My glasses got scratched," Sarah spoke quietly.
Saki regarded her friend. "It'll be alright... After what happened, I don't think we're going back..."
"Good... Dumb school anyway," Sarah agreed as she ate slowly. "You were brave, Saki,"
Saki regarded her friend. "They hit you." she responded quietly. "They hit my aunt with a baseball bat.." she paused. "they hit me." she added quietly. "I'd had enough... they outcasted us for no reason and they treated us like shit... and the amount of effort we wasted on trying to become accepted was...." she stopped. "yeah.." she then sighed softly.
"We don't need them," Sarah announced gloomily.
"Nope..." Saki agreed as she gently coiled an arm around Sarah's shoulders. "Hey, cheer up. At least our parents get along." she indicated the closed door nearby. "and Daniel is asleep." Saki added.
"Yeah... But me dad will get really mad at people now," Sarah told her friend. "He doesn't like it when people hurt his clan."
Saki slowly nodded her head. "I can feel my mother's rage.." she admitted. "I have her abilities but I'm not as strong as she is..." Saki seemed more subdued. "Do you think your Dad will yell at you?"
"Maybe... He don' like being lied to," Sarah shifted uneasily. "But he also likes that I try to fix things on my own."
Saki raised an eyebrow. "But... you kept him out of it because you wanted to sort it out yourself." she explained. "But then... I'm guilty of the same offenses against my own kin.... and I got a lot more than one person.." Saki sighed.
"I shoulda told Dad sooner," Sarah sighed in sadness.
Saki lifted a slice of pizza. "At least you told him... I got several people whom I owe money to." she sighed. "Phoenix, my aunt, my mom and my grandmother among them.... they are all angry at me."
"I don't think they'll stay mad. They know you were tryin' to help me," Sarah pointed out hopefully.
"That's not it... I borrowed rations without them saying I could." Saki responded before she finished the one slice in her hand.
"You have to tell them you're sorry then," Sarah spoke quietly. "If they love you, they'll forgive you."
"Yeah... I'll do that." Saki responded softly.
Sarah hugged her friend. "It'll be ok. You'll see."
