Mission:
Mission 33: Losing the Peace
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1000Hrs - June 4th, 2391
Commander Torilla Yamaguchi knew she needed to talk to Jake after this because she had had all of this horsecrap pounded into her head that she must have children by the state, ever since she was a little girl she had been told that her entire life was pre planned for her. She would marry and have lots of children.
She had three adult children and the twins, and after her encounter with Fives and the intervention of Elizabeth on the hanger deck, she now knew what she needed to do.
She went into sickbay. "Hey... I need to see the Doctor on watch at present... I need to correct an issue.."
Ensign Tienn Iteela regarded the taller woman. "Come on over here Commander..." as she led Yamaguchi to the the nearest biobed. "Have a seat and I'll go get you Windspirit for you."
Windspirit, having heard her name from the other room, walked in, asking, "Whats the issue."
Torilla Yamaguchi regarded the exotic looking woman, having to resist the temptation to pet her. "I need an abortion." she asked quietly but it was clear she did not give it a lot of thought.
Windspirit didn't have to be a telepath to tell that Torilla was not thinking clearly. So she asked in a concise manner," Are you absolutely, positively sure that that is what you want."
"I was stupid in the matter..." Torilla responded. "What else is there to say on the matter?" she inquired.
Windspirit sighed calmly, then replied," Well, because I have dealt with this before. Someone has come to me for an abortion, they didn't think it through, didn't discuss alternatives, they just went right into it. Then later on, they realize that's not really what they want, and they become heartbroken as a result. That's why I want to be sure that you absolutely want this, and that you are of sound mind and judgement when making this call, and that you aren't jumping into a decision rashly."
Yamaguchi paused. "Alternatives... What alternatives do I have at the present time... Either I carry an unwanted child to term or I don't..."
Windspirit shrugged, " Well, the only third alternative would be for a surrogate to carry it. Don't worry, I'm just looking out for you, I want to be sure that you aren't acting rashly and may regret it later."
Yamaguchi regarded the Eeiauoan. "Last time that came up... my daughter violated Phoenix..." she sighed. "I don't have many choices.." she added quietly. "Who'm could I ask...?"
Windspirit couldn't offer good advice, but she tried her best," Well, you would be pretty much limited to Humans or Halanans for best results, but ultimately I guess it would just depend on whom you would trust."
The door opened and in walked Ensign Elizabeth Yamaguchi. "Doctor." she greeted the Eeiauoan. "Ahh.. Mom....whats going on?"
"I'm here to see the Doctor about getting my issue sorted out.."
Elizabeth nodded her head. "Mom... seriously.. Think about this... Don't rush into it.." she paused. "I'm interrupting... I apologize." and with that she went over to the Doctor's office to check in.
Meanwhile Torilla looked at Windspirit. "In light of what happened the last time... I don't ...want to go... through this again..." she sighed. "Its time I dealt with the situation instead of cranking out more babies..." she sighed. "What options do I have?"
Windspirit responded with a list of options," Well, you can start using birth control pills and morning after pills, or start using condoms, or stop having sex, or get your tubes tied."
Yamaguchi considered it. "I'll just get my tubes tied." she responded quietly. "sounds like the most effective approach." a sigh escaped her lips. "Can I do that now.... ?" Yamaguchi inquired.
Windspirit gave Torilla a look, "Not while you still have a baby in there."
Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Can I transfer this baby to.... someone else?" she paused.
Windspirit knew that Torilla wasn't thinking clearly, so she reiterated in a flat tone," Yes I have already offered that suggestion, it is just a matter of who do you trust."
"I don't trust very many... Elizabeth has already made the offer however.."
Windspirit looked at Elizabeth, looked at Torilla, looked back at Elizabeth, then looked back at Torilla, finally saying," Well, Elizabeth does have anger management issues, but at the very least, she is in good health, as long as she is fully consenting on the matter, and after you two have a good discussion about it."
"Alright... Elizabeth and I will chat about it." Torilla responded. "We'll see how it goes.."
