Mission: Mission 32: Tales of Tarod
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - April 21st, 2391

Master Chief Petty Officer Stephen "Orthos" McKnight was in the middle of making breakfast as he wanted this to be a special morning for Daisy Rohr, he had plans today so he had taken a few weeks off so he could spend some time with her, he had flown over with the Admiral the previous day, Jake too was taking some time off as well.

"Daisy... I'm almost finished..." Orthos commented as he was planning to pop the question over breakfast.

"Oh they smell wonderful!" Daisy replied. "I'll get our drinks."

Orthos turned off the stove as he slid the last of the four omelets over to the plate, he then brought the plate to the table. "There was something I was meaning to ask you sooner... but things got in the way... like my new posting and .. your mom."

"And our child," Daisy added. "We have a little time now."

Orthos paused as he let out a breath, then he inhaled again. "Would you marry me?"

Daisy's mouth was agape. It took her a moment to react. Daisy just nodded her at first and then very non eloquently blurted out "Yes."

"Great.." he responded. "Do you want to plan a big formal wedding or have something simple and quick.... we could ask Zara Tane to officiate... if she don't then I know Admiral Yamaguchi is aboard.. either of them would be honored.."

"Remember, my Mother is the most congenial and reasonable from my family. My family also think such ceremonies are outdated" Daisy told Orthos. "I'm thinking we should go informal. Do you have any family you would like to attend?"

"No." Orthos responded. "So... we'll eat, then ask Zara to do it." he responded. "knowing her, she'll baptize our union with a few bottles of Klingon hooch."

"Oh for the love of all things holy!" Daisy cried "No Klingon Hooch. That stuff has caused enough problems. Although if Zara is up to it she would be good."

"Alright..." Orthos paused. "We do have a chaplain aboard now." he commented. "I'll ask her." as he tapped his combadge. "McKnight to Ensign Lucia, say Ensign could you fit a quick wedding into your schedule?" he inquired.

Savina stopped rubbing the white cloth over the statue in the chapel as she looked up. "Certainly. I'm free all morning if you would like to come to the chapel?"

"Certainly. we'll be down in thirty minutes. Thank you Ensign. McKnight out." as he tapped his combadge. "Dress uniforms?" he inquired. "I'll be wearing mine of course... as for you... thats your choice."

"I'm wearing a dress." Daisy told him. "As much as I like the uniform, I'm not wearing it for my wedding."

"Alright." McKnight commented as he plated their food. One and a half ommlette's each, he lifted his knife and fork as he got stuck into it.

"You gave us half an hour." Daisy told Orthos. "I need to replicate a simple dress. Then I have to fit into the dress, stockings, and heels. Then I need to put on make-up. I'm getting killed for time here." Daisy said as she typed on the replicator.

"Oh.... good point.." Orthos admitted as he considered it. "I should have asked first. I apologize."

Daisy smiled at Orthos. "There really isn't a need to apologize." Daisy pulled the white lace dress out of the replicator. "I should have enough time, it will just be close."

Orthos regarded her with a soft smile. "But I should have considered the time requirement..." he paused as he demolished a half an omelette. "I'm going to go get my dress uniform..." he went into the bedroom, he returned in five minutes, having changed into his dress uniform. "Hows it going out here?" he inquired.

"It took me ten minutes to get my hose on." Daisy shot back. "I'm still getting in my dress."

Orthos pulled on his boots and just like that, he was ready to go where as Daisy was still sorting herself out.

Daisy was in her dress and applying make up. "Your lucky I'm a minimalist when it comes to make up." She told him.

"Indeed... after. Lets come back here and we can..... celebrate." as he gave her a lusty look. "You truly look beautiful..."

Daisy blushed and restrained a giggle. "Oh, it's just a simple dress, make up, and hair." Daisy stopped and thought for a second. "I forgot to do my hair!" For a moment Daisy grimaced. "Oh, just forget it. We need to go."

"You look lovely as you are.." Orthos responded, trying to soothe her nerves. "Lets go." and with that he lead her out the door and down the hall, a short time later, they reached their destination.

Savina smoothed her uniform, making herself presentable as she took a slow last minute stroll around the chapel. For a place that looked rarely used it was maintained well. She walked up to each deity that was represented there and called out for each religions blessing on the Union that would take place shortly: the Virgin Mary for earths Catholicism, the God of peace from Vulcan, the great Klingon Kahless...there were many, many more And the woman recited a few words within the native language of each, prayers and blessings she had learned along the way from mentors, theologians and parish ears alike.

Somehow the thought of the many gods looking down on the couple gave the Roma a sense of peace towards such an act of eternal Union.

The door to the chapel opened and in walked Orthos who stood in at 6'4 and weighed in a 340lbs, mostly muscle and Daisy was also sizable in her own right. "Ensign." Orthos addressed the smaller woman. "We're ready... I think."

The chaplain nodded with a wide smile. "Of course." She motioned for the two to come in further, motioning for them to sit near the front of the room. "Any preferences for the type of ceremony? Civil/religious/casual?"

Orthos regarded Daisy. "No... just causal, we have no family readily available to be here,." he paused. "Orthos to Commander Yamaguchi, Sir, we need you in the chapel right away..."
The g
The response came back. "I'm on my way.."

Savina nodded. "While we wait it is customary that I have a brief chat with the couple, especially if I am unfamiliar with them. So tell me, what drew you together? What about each other makes you want to commit to a lifetime of Union?" She asked casually. While she had never turned anyone away yet, the woman always wanted to make sure that the intention of marriage was as pure as possible. Regardless if it was a casual ceremony or not, she had her own conscience and gods not to offend.

Daisy had a blank look on her face as she mulled the question.

Orthos smiled. "Okay... by all means... what did you want to ask us?"

The woman smiled back. "Why this woman? What draws you to her?"

Orthos raised an eyebrow, it was quickly clear that he was not used to being questioned in such a manner. "I will admit, I did not expect the question..." he admitted as he tried not to smile. "but since you ask..." he looked between the smaller woman and the half Klingon woman. "she's the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I think about in the evening, Daisy here has made me feel alive in a way I had not felt since Vanessa was killed at the hands of the Borg.." he paused. "We've served together before and we've been friends for a number of years now... so its not that we rushed into it... However... I wanted to make our relationship official because I felt it was past time.." he left unsaid that Daisy was pregnant because of him.

He was sincere, Savina was sure of it. The chaplain nodded and turned to the man's chosen. "And you Major? What is it about this man that makes you want to spend the rest of your life with him?"

Daisy took a long slow look at McKnight. "Orthos is one of the best at what he does and yet remains humble. He is strong and yet is still sensitive. He is intelligent and remains practical. He is assertive but puts the needs of others before himself. He is the love of my life and the father of my child."

Again Savina nodded, convinced. There was conviction in both officers speeches that could not be denied. She turned to the commander. "As their witness you can attest to what has been said?"

Torilla Yamaguchi, who was standing behind both of the bride and groom. "You rang sir.?" she inquired. "Orthos and Daisy getting married... its long overdue because Orthos is one of the most honest men I know, when he tells you he's going to do something, he means it... because to him... his word is his vow.." Yamaguchi responded. "As for Daisy... She's had to walk a harder road then most... but she is loyal and strong, she's also laid back and easy to get along with... which for me is a shock, ever since I first met her... which... is a story in itself. I expected her to be the average Klingon warrior... only interested in blood and glory... Oh how wrong I was... she's inspired me to be a better mother... and a better person... I'm the one who's married and with children and grandchildren..." she indicated the two before her. "These two will make an excellent married couple... and parents when their little one comes due later next year.."

Th chaplain grinned and took a deep breathe, turning and took the steps into the cleared space at the front of the chapel. "Well then, let's begin."

Orthos smiled. "Alright." he turned to Daisy. "Lets get married."

When the couple and their witness were situated the chaplain opened her arms wide. "Love is beautiful. it is forgiving and it is wonderful, our best testament of what makes us compassionate and the greatest reason of why we strive for greatness. It brings together those who are opposites, tends fences of adversity and creates lives." She smiled at the pregnant bride. "Love is all encompassing, and marriage is the testament of two people who both choose and realize that deep down they cannot live without one another."

Folding her hands together, Savina nodded once. "Do you have anything you would like to say to each other?"

Orthos turned to face Daisy as he considered what to say. "Daisy, “I promise to be your lover, companion and friend, Your partner in parenthood, Your ally in conflict, Your greatest fan and your toughest adversary. Your comrade in adventure, Your student and your teacher,
Your consolation in disappointment, Your accomplice in mischief.
This is my sacred vow to you, my equal in all things. All things."

Yamaguchi watched in silence, a smile on her face.

Daisy had tears running down her cheeks. "I consider myself fortunate to have you be part of our life and that you will be the father of our children. I will cherish you the way you will cherish me. Our children will grew up strong and proud. I am honored that you are my husband and I will honor you as your wife and mother of your children."

Yamaguchi smiled, he thought the vows were lovely.

Savina too found her lips were in a wide smile, the endearment of these two touching. "Stephen and Daisy, do you swear to hold each other close in spirit, to honor and cherish each other, to support and raise each other up from darkness?"

Orthos nodded. "Whatever it takes, for as long as it takes... I do."

"I do." Daisy replied.

The chaplain nodded and continued. "Do you promise to keep hold of your love and raise your future children in everlasting remembrance of the bond you know hold, that will undoubtedly only ever grow?"

"From now.. untill the end of time.." Orthis added.

"Yes, from here to the hereafter." Daisy replied.

Yamaguchi regarded her two friends, the bride and groom and she felt privileged to be called down here for this, but had she more time, she would have changed into something better like a nice dress or even her dress uniform.

"Are there rings?" The chaplain asked, her mood mellowing as the ceremony neared completion

Orthos shook his head. "We never had a chance..." he responded apologetically.

Yamaguchi slowly raised an eyebrow. "I have two rings.... I strive to be prepared and while I was going to give you these two rings Orthos, my way of saying congratulations. I brought them with me.... using transporter records from the two of you. So I bought two simple wedding bands.." as she produced a small black box which she then handed to Orthos. "Nothing happens on this ship without me knowing about it."

"Thanks Torilla, your a lifesaver." Daisy replied.

Savinas grin grew wider from the one side. "May I?" She asked the man as he looked down at the box. Upon him nodding she removed the two rings, placing them in her palm, placing the other hand overtop for a moment as she willed all the Gods to bless the union silently. It was something she had become accustomed to doing, asking favors of the heavens in favor of those who deserved it.

She held out her palm flat, the rings having taken on the warmth of her skin. "Stephen and Daisy, please place the rings on each other's left hands and hear this testament. These rings are a symbol of your undying committment, a sign of love never ending, much like the circle that will now adorn your fingers. Repeat after me: with this ring, I thee wed."

Orthos gently plucked one of the two rings from the smaller woman's hand, before he gently grasped Daisy's hand with his own. "With this ring...I three wed.." he then smiled warmly at her.

Daisy Held Orthos' hand. She gently kissed it before putting the ring on. "With this ring, I thee wed..."

The chaplain closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again she smiled deeply. "Stephen and daisy, by the power invested in me by the authorities within starfleet and the higher truth of the many Gods that surround us now, I now pronounce you husband and wife."

She watched the happiness spill over within the couple. "You may kiss in Union."

Orthos regarded Daisy as he gently wrapped his arms around her before he gently kissed her on the lips, he took his time as he enjoyed the kiss he shared with his intended.

As they parted again Daisy smiled at Orthos. "I love you." she gently whispered.

Orthos grinned at her. "I love you too. What do you say we go celebrate our union?" he inquired.

Daisy held on to Orthos' hand. "I'd say that is a wonderful idea."

"Okay... so dinner or.... something... else?" he gave her a look that could mean a few things as Commander Yamaguchi came over. "It was a lovely service guys." she commented. "Thank you for letting me be here to witness this...."

"We knew you needed something good to think about." Orthos commented evenly. "Besides.. you didn't throw Daisy here in the brig when you first met her, remmeber.. the mess with Werner.."

Yamaguchi looked mystified for a moment, clearly she had forgotten about that, obviously Orthos had not. "Oh right... I forgot about that..."

"I say we enjoy ourselves in the holodeck for a few hours." Daisy suggested. "Somewhere secluded and warm enough were we don't need clothes."

Orthos grinned at her. "Thats easily arranged." he responded with a smile.

Daisy looked toward Savina "That was a beautiful ceremony. Thank You."

Savina smiled back. "My pleasure."

Yamaguchi meanwhile stood, a wide smile on her face. "A lovely ceremony Ensign." she commented. "I can see me spending some time in here, meditating... that is with your permission?" Yamaguchi inquired.

The Roma inclined her head. "Of course. This chapel is very welcoming and has plenty of room. Please feel free to use it whenever you wish."

Yamaguchi bowed her head. "Then I thank you for the use of this space." as she turned to see Orthos and his new wife departing the chapel, arm in arm. "You did a lovely service... Welcome aboard the USS Roanoke.."
