Mission: Mission 30: All Thats Left
Location: Planet Surface - Yeneer G1
Timeline: 0800Hrs - March 16th, 2391 - Time Dilation: 6 Years, 6 Months

Saki Yamaguchi was being a kid for one of the few times of her short life in that she was playing marbles with her mother. Phoenix had taken Rachael aside and she had basically explained that Saki was a child who needed to be a child and not be a miniature adult all of the time.

"and you say it works like this.."

"Yep... you still got one move." she indicated the King Kong marble with her fingers, the two of them were just outside of the Flyer class Runabout which was presently doing double duty as Phoenix's home away from home.

Meanwhile inside the Runabout, Siaxx Dvald was lying, flat on her back underneath a console. "Okay.... try it now?" she said to Phoenix.

"Should I wake them?" Phoenix asked with a yawn.

Siaxx turned her head. "Let them sleep... If and when we're able to establish coms... then we'll wake the twins and get them to meet their mother.. but for now... let 'em sleep."

"Got it!" Phoenix almost hooted. "I had ta reconfigure the band, usin' an older coaxial strip. Bypasses the temporal vortex stream along with the subspace buoy. And if Roanoke is in the system, she should, in theory, be able ta pick up basic comm channels."

Siaxx chuckled. "I have no idea whatsoever what any of that means.... but it sounds hot." she paused. "is it ... working?"

"It is. But gettin' a ship-to-ship communication might not be possible. May need ta send recordings only, ta get around the time delay," Phoenix explained to Siaxx in a more laymen term.

Siaxx chuckled softly. "See... how easy that was?". The Bolian chuckled softly. "At least we can let Roanoke know that we're alright.." she added. "Its still better than nothing.."

"Agreed. So let's find the others and get some messages they wanna send up," Phoenix suggested.

Siaxx nodded. "Sounds good... we need to round everyone up and that... is going to take some doing.."

"Shouldn' take too long," Phoenix guessed. "Not many live outside the cave."

"More or less... just you." Siaxx responded. "When are you coming over to join us at our base camp... the walk over here is dangerous and you're isolated... if trouble breaks out... we won't be able to assist you."

"Soon as I get her flyin' again, I suppose," Phoenix shrugged.

Siaxx nodded. "I will help..." she commented. "Not right for a pregnant woman to be doing all this by her lonesome..."

"The felions teach you much about fixin' stuff while you been here?" Phoenix asked conversationally.

"Greywolf taught me his culture, his language and his philosophy."

"Sounds like he filled my void well for you," Phoenix admitted with a hint of jealousy.

Siaxx regarded Phoenix. "Had you known him, you would not be saying that..." she responded. "You are my mate, my intended... He was the one who gave me hope and a future... Who made me believe again..." she paused as she made a decision. "Come... I will show you what I meant to him." she then repeated what she just said in Greywolf's language. Siaxx turned as she stepped out of the runabout, her grief was something she was still working through as she suddenly started weeping softly, this only hastened the breakdown of her emotional control and it only a couple of seconds before she was crying.

"Hey..." Phoenix's eyes softened as she walked up to Siaxx and hugged her. "It's all right. Truly."

Siaxx turned as she threw her arms around Phoenix's torso. "Without him or you... I've been lost..."

"We'll ya got found again," Phoenix remarked with a cheshire grin. "We can spend as much time together as you like now."

Siaxx couldn't answer, so she buried her face into Phoenix's chest as she cried.

"I'm sorry you lost your friend," Phoenix whispered with concern.

Siaxx didn't respond, too distraught to do anything other then cry.

"It'll be alright," Phoenix tried to sooth as she rocked Siaxx gently and held the back of her intended's bald head in a very motherly way.
