Mission:
Mission 28: Those who Remain
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1900Hrs - March 7th, 2391
Elizabeth was wearing a tank top and a miniskirt, neither of which hid most of her features as the com system beeped at her and her husband as they were both playing a game of chess, a game to which Elizabeth was losing badly, having lost her queen, both rooks and a knight, compared to her husband having lost half his pawns.
Kameron turned his head. "Computer. who is the message for?"
The computer responded with "The message is marked personal for First
Lieutenant Kam Solusar."
Elizabeth regarded him as she stood up, she quickly pulled on her uniform jacket as Kam turned on the display.
He was suddenly confronted by the visage of his father, a Lieutenant General named Ranik Solusar. "You wouldn't believe what I just heard about you... they tell me you dropped my last name in favor of... some punk assed teenagers last name.... what the-" was as far as he got before Kam snapped back. "Is that all you got to say to me Dad.... No, hello, how are you... I mean come on... give me a break already.."
"Why you little-" except this time it was Elizabeth who interrupted as she yawned loudly. "Oh... sorry..." she commented. "General... you are addressing my husband and I would ask that you be civil about it.."
Kameron stopped as he decided to let Elizabeth get involved, he knew his wife was dying to say a few words so he would let her.
Ranik, meanwhile wasn't having any of it. "Who might you be?" he barked at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth sighed while she raised an eyebrow. "I'm Elizabeth Yamaguchi. " she then smiled darkly at the older man who was glaring at her. "You're son's wife... I've heard alll about you." as she looked at him darkly. "You will cease from treating my husband in this manner.. or else." the taller then average woman growled.
"How dare you!" he growled back at her. "I am a three star general.."
"Ohh... I think I struck a nerve.." Elizabeth smiled, clearly used to being threatened and officers trying to intimidate her. She was also not tolerating any of this crap either. "Well.. let me strike another one..." she went on. "If you ever address me in such a manner on official channels ever again, I will report you to Starfleet Security for
harassment of my husband and of myself, also you're childish threats are beneath you and me.... they are also insulting and... I will not stand for it.."
Ranik had never known anyone to address him anywhere near this level of ferocity. He had heard a great many things about the Yamaguchi's and he could see that their bark and their bite was worth what he had heard, he also knew that she had connections that meant even he had to tread carefully. "This is an official conversation... I'm getting to it."
"Then by all means... get to the point General." Kameron said quietly.
Ranik has overplayed his hand and now he could see that both his son and new daughter in law were going going to take advantage of it as his wife walked into the room. "Ranik, seriously... that will be enough." Kameron knew full well that only his biological mother would dare speak to his father like that and get away with it, it was another thing which disgusted him.
Ranik sighed as his wife none too gently shoved him aside and she sat down where he had been sitting. Jessica meanwhile regarded her son and his new wife. "Hello you two... I wanted to be here... since I was the one who wanted to chat... and see how things were."
"Nothing has changed mom... Dad is still being himself... he doesn't like the fact that I don't accept responsibility for my brothers death.... What happened was not my fault... I'm sick of being blamed for it."
"I know.."
Kameron sighed. "Then you should know that I'll be speaking with this ships JAG Officer about this matter, using an official call to chew me a new one doesn't cut it mom, I'm going to get a restraining order on all of you guys... and a gag order too, I want nothing more to do with the
Solusar family... I'm done.."
His mother wasn't taking it lightly. "Don't you think you're being a little dramatic.?"
"No... I don't think so.....I've thought about the matter most carefully."
Jessica turned on Elizabeth. "This was your idea... wasn't it... this is all your-"
"Enough!" Kameron snapped loudly. "See.. this is exactly what I'm talking about, when you two don't get your way, its never your fault but someone elses... never your own, stop avoiding the responsibility for your own mistakes and deal with your problems... start by
admitting what happened with James was an accident and stop blaming others for your own problems and mistakes.... I'm sick to death of dealing with it." and with that he hung up on his mother.
Elizabeth sat next to him in silence as she regarded him, compassion radiating in her eyes as she wordlessly stood up, before tapping her combadge. "Yamaguchi to Yamaguchi. Mom, we have a small situation which... we need help with."
"I'm on my way." Torilla's voice came back.
Kameron likewise stood up. "Computer... Start a level one diagnostic on this work station."
"Working. please stand by." the computer responded. "Computer, run a full series of checks, look for anything wrong, add in a deep level virus scan as well as...." he paused.
"Computer, add in a full virus scan series..." Elizabeth said quietly. "When that's finished. shut this station down but display the results on my personal station." she regarded her husband. "After we tell mom what happened and get her to help us deal with him.... we'll go anywhere and do what you wanna do." Elizabeth gave her husband a soft smile.
"I could never say no to you."
"Thats only because I hear your anger, your rage.... the dam is cracking... and we should give you a method for releasing it..." she paused. "I know you've had to deal with a lot.... so I'll request the next couple of days off.... you do the same and I'll let you have your way with me..."
Kameron simply smiled. "That sounds good."
