A Shattered Circlet

Mission: Mission 28: Those who Remain
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - February 26th, 2391

Music Soundtrack: Soldiers back on, the Mogadishu Mile - Black Hawk Down.

Commander Torilla Yamaguchi held a PADD in hand as she looked around the busy flight deck, with birds being moved places and pilots rushing around, also the maintenance techs were busy too.

Torilla found her target. "Luhanna asked me to let you know she contacted these colonies and while four detected the Tolkien, the others did not.. so we'll start our search at the destination at the two you selected yesterday."

"Sounds good to me," Phoenix agreed and took the PADD. She was barely keeping it together, not knowing where her beloved ended up at. Or even if she was alive.

"Alright... well I'm gonna go up to the tower... See how those guys are doing up there."

"Why are you really here?" Phoenix asked rather directly.

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as she regarded the other woman. "I'm concerned about you." she admitted.

"Tane told me ta work. So work I do," Phoenix shrugged aside. "Not gonna off myself, if 'ats what you're worried 'bout. Your babies are safe from that."

"Well... I appreciate you telling me that... But that's not what I'm worried about." Torilla commented as she thought of her youngest daughter. "But should you forget... Just keep in mind that I have family there too."

"I aint forgotten," Phoenix noted offensively. "She's one of my pilots. I aint leavin' her behind."

Yamaguchi regarded the other woman. "Good. Now... I'm heading up to the tower..." she said quietly. "I felt I needed to get off of the bridge... y'know..."

"Yeah, I do..." Phoenix was thinking more about Aryssa being there, than the situation itself. "Hard ta do my job with so many eyes on me up here."

"Aryssa is the personal attendant of Captain Tane.... she'll keep Aryssa out of trouble.." Yamaguchi paused. "Do you have a search plan yet?"

"I've got tha grease monkeys workin' on swapping out the scorpion pods out for sensor pods," Phoenix began. "In pairs, they can scan ten times as fast and further than the Valks. So Jetfire and Leadfoot as drillin' their squadrons on the various search patterns we'll use. Plus the EWACs are bein' prepped for similar missions."

Yamaguchi nodded. "Alright..." as she turned before looking out the hanger bay. "Find them Phoenix.... thats all I ask... find them and bring them home."

"That's my only intent," Phoenix admitted. "Why'd she have ta give Aryssa that job? Tane'll run her up here a lot just ta annoy me."

"At least you have a chance to sort things out with her.... most don't get that chance.." Torilla responded evenly. "At least make the attempt with her.."

"What ya think I been doin' all this time?" Phoenix spoke rather offensively. "I been tryin' ta make some sort of dialogue with her ever time she visits me, an' she don' want it. So it aint me."

Yamaguchi regarded the other woman in silence, after a moment or so, she turned and departed, thinking that this was a waste of time.

Phoenix just shook her head in frustration and then barked out to the hangar personnel, "SAR drill in ten people."

Right before she got to the exit, Torilla turned and went instead around the hanger and from there, she went into the tower itself, where she was always mean to go the first time.
