Mission: Mission 24: Open Secrets
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1200Hrs - February 3rd, 2391

Ensign Elizabeth Yamaguchi smiled as she held the PADD in her hands as the door opened and in walked a smaller woman. "Captain on deck!" screamed one of the orderlies.

Elizabeth sighed as the massive Gorn plodded over to Zara. "Mmm... can we help you?"

"I need relief," Zara spoke, then covered her mouth with a congested cough.

Toshnarr looked down at her. "Ms Yamaguchi will see to your medical needs today." he indicated the larger woman nearby.

Zara walked over, rubbed her red, raw nose, and sat on the biobed patiently.

Elizabeth came over. "Mornin Captain." she addressed her mother's friend. "Let me see.... Oh yes.." she opened her medkit as she selected the medication she wanted. "I'm going to give you forty cc's of iritherizine." she explained. "Its designed to soothe and clear airways... also its designed to keep them clear... it'll slowly flush your system."

"This crew's antics is gonna kill me," Zara complained as she covered her mouth to cough again.

"I hear ya." Elizabeth explained as she monitored Zara with her tricorder. "Yeah, this strain is rather potent... I can cure it but it'll take two days to flush out of your system."

"Lovely," Zara noted dryly as she laid down on the biobed. "...So how's Phoenix doing?"

"She's sleeping at the present time." Elizabeth responded. "Siaxx is presently with her."

"So how's you and your family?" Zara asked.

"We're good." Elizabeth commented with a smile. "I know Dad is happy." she paused. "Mom is happier than I've seen her in a long time.." the larger woman smiled. "Gabe is busy adjusting to life as a full time Dad along with his wife..." she paused. "I see what my siblings have and.... I want that for myself.." she had no idea why she was saying this but she felt she could trust Zara with it.

"You'll get there in time," Zara assured, and covered her mouth to cough again.

Elizabeth took a moment to prepare some medication. "I'm going to give you a hypo with twelve shots of the same medication, make sure you take two every twelve hours." she explained. "don't go thinking that more is better... two every twelve hours." Elizabeth then gently handed the hypo to Zara. "Take them all regardless if you feel well or not, in there is a booster which will help your immune system recover its strength."

"Yes Ma'am," Zara mock-saluted. "I know Furban's a pain to work under, but you seem to be doing well."

"I'm managing.." Elizabeth responded with a soft smile. "The Lieutenant is demanding but not so that I get overloaded." she paused. "Mom asked me to say hello.."

"Tell her she's not to come back until she's well and truly spent," Zara winked. "But on a serious now, Furban's hard because she exists on a scholastic plane no one else does. But her mom is her boss in the realm of medicine. So if you need Furban to lighten up your school work, Olmos is the one to talk to."

Elizabeth chuckled softly. "I'll make sure mom gets the message." she replied. "So far she's not been too bad but... I'll admit the option is becoming more tempting." she sighed. "in any case... you should be fine in a day or two... Its the best I can do without doing anything drastic."

"Thanks," Zara nodded as she sat back up.

"Unless you have any other issues I should know about sir... " Elizabeth commented with a smile. "I'll update your paperwork."

"I want to think you're a good kid," Zara finally said, if not a bit uncomfortably. "Just... Something you still intimidate me."

"I was protecting my mom..." Elizabeth answered softly. "I didn't know..."

"It's a good quality," Zara admitted. "Now you just need to learn to harness the instinct."

Elizabeth looked almost intimidated. "Thats what Mom said... I am working on it... but I've been protecting my siblings for so long.... I'm used to it... and .. I saw my mother in a vulnerable state.." the taller woman looked away. "I didn't see you were helping... I thought you were a threat... to their marriage... I didn't know that you and my Dad had talked.."

"We don't fuck each other all the time," Zara laughed lightly. "I sleep with her because she has nightmares. And I hug her when she needs to cry or know she's OK... Plus she's vulnerable in front of a friend. Which a parent would rather lean on a friend, than their offspring."

Elizabeth regarded Zara. "I can understand.." she paused. "I appreciate your candor Zara...." she paused a second time. "Your reputation is undeserved."

"Maybe not," Zara frowned. "We do fuck... Just not often. And I only do that when she just can't seem to relax - which is hard to do on this ship, if haven't figured out. But she and I will only ever be friends."

Elizabeth slowly smiled. "Well... Mom thinks the world of you... Dad does too... After he calmed down from screaming at me..." she sighed. "I heard that Dad had a temper... I never saw it until that moment..." the taller woman sighed. "I should have listened... and I'm sorry that I didn't."

"We all do things we aren't proud of," Zara spoke solemnly. "To this day I am not one hundred percent sure I killed my dad in self-defense, as a child."

Elizabeth stood in silence. "Fair enough." she paused. "I will not ask you what happened to provoke the situation... Its not my place.." she sighed. "I heard about the snowball fight on the base... was it... interesting?"

"I have no idea," Zara answered honestly. "I was busy being strong armed by that bitch's kill team, with cuffs behind my back."

Elizabeth nodded. "I'm surprised she didn't come for me too.." she paused. "Mind if I speak my thoughts?"

"Sure," Zara agreed with a nod of her head.

"That woman seriously needs to retire and get her head outta her ass..." she responded. "she is far too dangerous for her own good."

"Far too connected too," Zara flinched. "April will pay for intervening in that woman's demented witch hunt."

Elizabeth nodded softly. "I know..." she said softly. "Dad's gonna get it too...she's going to come after my entire family..."

"If she does, we'll be ready," Zara assured the young woman, before coughing into her sleeves.

Elizabeth regarded Zara, real fear shining in her eyes. "Can you...?" she said quietly. "I've heard real horror stories... about that woman.."

"Clinging to hope is often then only thing one can do," Zara explained. "I don't know for sure one way or another, but I will try damn hard to make her pay, if she comes after you."

Elizabeth nodded. "Alright..." she smiled at Zara. "Thank you..." she paused. "Do you want me to come by and check on you later?" she asked quietly.

"I suppose," Zara shrugged. "I don't think I want to risk sleeping in your mom's place tonight and getting elbowed in the shoulderblades."

Elizabeth chuckled. "I'm a Doctor, Zara..... I don't mix work and play.." she added. "Well not all the time anyway.... but you are my patient and I do make housecalls... and you...have a filthy mind....."

"So do you," Zara smiled and shook her head.

"Yes well." Elizabeth paused. "Well... Do you have any other issues or maladies you need looking at?" the taller woman inquired.

"I don't think so," Zara answered as she tried to think hard on the question.

"Alright... Then I thank you for your time." Elizabeth commented with a smile.
