Crossroads - Part Four

Posted on Fri Mar 20th, 2020 @ 6:20am by Commander Tienn Iteela & Lieutenant JG Tienn Durin & Tienn Jaina & Lieutenant Colonel Tienn Nerra

Mission: Mission 102: Sic Transit Tienn
Location: Tienn Farmstead - Utgarde colony
Timeline: 0930Hrs, August 2nd, 2392

The Tienn party's arrival at the Utgarde Colony spaceport was more or less as they expected, with children huddled around the adults and Balin, all wondering what was going on and the like. The dozen of them getting through customs was accomplished quickly enough with only some minor issues like Balin handing the wrong documentation to the clerk, only for Tienn Nerra to resolve the issue with the correct documentation a few moments later.

Tienn Iteela smiled. "Guys, stay here, I am going to go and secure our transportation." and with that, the mid-sized female turned and departed.

After what seemed like a few minutes, the large group emerged from the massive building and into the outside air, the sun was beating down upon the gathering as this world was slightly hotter and brighter then the children were used to. Balin turned his head as he took in the scene at a glance. "Ahh, this feels glorious!" he said quietly but it was more than loud enough for most of the party to hear his words.

Tienn Nerra smiled as she felt the sunlight beating down on her frame. "Mmmm. When we get to where we're going, I'm going to want to soak up some of this sun," she admitted.

Durin looked up. "Yeah. I can feel why you would aunt Nerra." before she lowered her gaze. "Shall we go?" she inquired.

Tienn Iteela came back, a set of keys in her left hand. "Guys. I have our transportation." the third Bajoran female returned to the group. "This way." she turned and moved back the way she came, the large party following more or less in silence.

Iteela led them over to a well-sized shuttlecraft, it looked to be something similar to an older type eight shuttle once used by Federation starships but it was also surplus and looked well used and well worn. Iteela slid her slender form into the pilot's chair as she began the preflight checks. "Alright, everyone, if you'll take a seat, we can get going," she called as the small horde of Caitian children began scrambling for seats. Balin was last in as he tapped the door close toggle on the display with one of his claws.

Durin smiled as she sat down in the co-pilots chair. "Let me help," she commented. "I'm a lot more current then you are."

"Fine by me," Iteela answered, a jovial smile on her lips. "You guys good back there?" she called

There was a small yelling match as everyone answered Iteela all at once. Durin snickered. "Let's go."

"This is shuttle two three nine eight echo, requesting departure clearance." Iteela contacted the tower and got the ball rolling.

"Two three nine eight echo, clearance for departure is granted, smooth skies and have a safe flight."

Iteela started the engines on the shuttle, the shuttle slowly took off before it began moving across the countryside, within minutes they were speeding across hills and forests but as quickly as their journey began, it also ended as they reached their destination, a large series of fields, all surrounded the main home. There was a series of fences but it was mostly it was to keep out the local wildlife, there were a half dozen automated windmills here, providing power for the farm and everything else that was here. Mostly the place looked like a decent sized castle with the fortifications to match.

Iteela set the shuttle down just outside the large garage, she noticed as Balin opened the aft hatch and everyone began to file out.

Corat Tienn was present to meet them. "Hey guys, welcome to our home. Mom is waiting for you in the main area... If you'll all please follow me." and with that, the Cardassian looking Bajoran teenager turned and led the large group into the main home and into the front living room. Tienn Jaina was presently watering several plants. "Ladies, what's going on?" she commented. "Iteela. Your children are settled in and they seem to be enjoying their new home well. When do you depart for the Cassini?" she inquired.

"I depart sometime around October the first, as the humans reckon time," Iteela explained with a smile. "But that's not what brings us here today. We're heading home to Bajor to deal with our brother."

Tienn Jaina turned to regard her youngest child from her first marriage. "He passed an act of attainder against you. Very well. I will come with you." she paused. "I will not ask my family to come with me as it will only make things worse."

"How so mom?" Corat inquired.

"There will be another time Corat. You and the others will see Bajor but not today and not because of a family matter that has been permitted to go unaddressed for so long." Jaina answered as she gently smiled at her son. "I wish you could go this time... But I need for you to stay here and not get involved with my family's drama. Could you look after these kits?"

"Yeah mom, I can do that... Besides. Its been a while since I hung out with Balin." Corat explained before he turned. "Alright kits, why don't you all come with me and we can get your rooms picked out. Balin, I know just the room for you." and with that, he departed as the other kits chased him out of the room. Balin was last as he gently accepted Tienn Noel from her mother. "Almar and I will take good care of her," Balin commented as he accepted the duffel that Duran had brought with her. "You sure you're okay with this?"

"No, but then I will look after the protect those who need it. A warrior does not ignore the challenge placed before him. He accepted his charge and moves on with it." he explained to Durin. "Mom and dad taught me well."

Nerra slowly smiled. "We will make this up to you, big man," she said to Balin.

"That is not required." he paused. "Bringing me back something of Bajor, however, that will be what I require."

"We can do that for you big man, quite easily," Iteela answered with a smile. "Our trip there won't be long and the trip back won't be long either," she added.

"Nope. Its time we took care of matters of state." Nerra commented. "Corat seems to get along with Balin."

"Corat needs more male company, his siblings do not count and his classmates in the local school are simply too far away." Tienn Jaina explained. "Let me go and pack and then we'll head out." as Jaina withdrew into her bedroom in silence.
