Posted on Thu Feb 27th, 2020 @ 11:59am by Division Admiral Thomas Lasky & Jillian "Phoenix" Sullivan

Mission: Mission 18: Aces High
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1400Hrs - December 22nd, 2390

Wukari, Boomer and Phoenix entered the simulation control room to observe the simulation at hand. First one up was first squadron, first wing.

Boomer sighed softly. "I need a vacation..." he admitted. "I think the stress is getting to me.." he went over to the replicator as he got himself something to eat. "I need to get laid."

Ironhide meanwhile was sitting in his simulator as he looked around, the scenario was set in deep space as he looked around, he saw his twelve birds all motionless along with the three freighters they were ordered to protect.

"Alright... One flight, stay close to the freighters, second flight and third flight, go out and engage those Jem'Hadar ships..." he commented.

Boomer watched as the first encounter was messy, one Jem'Hadar exploded for the loss of two of First Squadron's birds.

Meanwhile Teval entered the simulator control room, announcing himself with," Hey guys, whats up."

Boomer regarded the unusual looking officer with a measure akin to affection. "Squadron tests... pull a chair and enjoy the show." he commented. "we're doing them in order. First Wing, First Squadron, Second Squadron and so on.." he explained.

"Ah," Teval commented as he sat down.

Meanwhile Ironhide and his Squadron had split up into two groups as the three Jem'Hadar fighters had closed to engage the Freighters, he knew that one of them had already been destroyed and the primary recipient of the kill was none other then 2nd Lieutenant Kam Solusar.

The remaining two however were making life difficult as one of the Freighters was slowly tumbling, out of control due to weapons fire but she wasn't dead yet as the Valkyries concentrated their fire when finally the second Jem'Hadar fighter became shattered history.

The third Jem'Hadar fighter came about as Ironhide decided to unleash the last four warheads he had into its aft shield grid, the other four with him did, most of them hit in about the same places, punching through the shields, as the Valkyries switched to guns, they quickly severed the starboard nacelle, which exploded and moments later, the Jem'Hadar followed it into oblivion.

Boomer meanwhile watched in silence. "Not half bad... better then I was expecting.." he tapped the display. "Ironhide. Nice work... head to your briefing room and keep your guys there until we let you out, not a word of this to anyone else.."

The response came back. "Willdo Boomer.."

Teval then added during the break, "Hey, tomorrow Aerin and the R&D guys will be running classes and starting with training simulations with the new Tech. While first and fourth squadrons of 2nd wing will be there, Aerin says he can fit in an additional 12 guys in the training, so I am giving those slots to 1st wings best 12 pilots. He also says it will be helpful if both wing commanders and Phoenix was there."

"I'll be there," Phoenix promised.

Boomer nodded. "Alright..... I'll select the twelve best guys from these forty fight guys and we'll be there." he commented

Meanwhile Camshaft and his twelve pilots were finished getting set up for the party, the situation was identical to first wing except he did not know this. "Alright.. all units, looks like we got three Jem'Hadar fighters on an attack vector, they seem to want the freighters."

"Sir... stay together or split up?"

"No... stay together.... concentrate all of our fire one of them at a time., target... the one on the right." he commented. "set for massed fire...and... fire." with that he squeezed off two warheads and so did everyone else in his squadron which made a grand total of twenty four warheads, this reduced the Jem'Hadar fighter in question into a flaming hunk of debris.

The remaining two bulldozed through the fighter formation, colliding with two of them, erasing them but doing damage to themselves as they began firing at the freighters.

Camshaft acquired a lock on the port Jem'Hadar fighter. "Two through six with me, everyone else kill the second guy..."

The Remaining Valkryes split up into two groups as but Second Squadron seemed to be a tad slower as one of the Freighters exploded in a fireball, before being joined by the second Jem'Hadar fighter, Camshaft and his remaining pilots now wanted blood as they closed and finished the third fighter in the frenzy of an all out slaughterfest.

Boomer watched this fight progress in silence, then he tapped his display, same as he had done for the first squadron. "Camshaft, not bad... take your guys and head to your ready room... not a word to anyone else.."

"Willdo sir." came the response from Camshaft

Boomer sat back and watched, now it was the turn of the number three squadron, the group that used to belong to Beatstick before Phoenix renamed him to Gonad, now Cyclops was in command.

"Alright Third, stay in formation." Cyclops growled. The Jem'Hadar came in to range. As they did, a lot of shots were fired off.

Berg fired his micros but was way out of range. He did hit Cyclops and wear down his aft shields. "Stop that you idiot!" Cyclops yelled over the comm.

Lynx screamed and fired off all her payload. It destroyed a Jem'Hadar but she turned and fled. Taffy, her wingman followed.

"Where are you two going?" Cyclops screamed.

"I'm protecting my wingman." Taffy answered.

"Not if she is running! Get back here!" Cyclops ordered and Taffy turned around. "El Tee T'kalla, get those bogies!" Cyclops bellowed.

As T'kalla chased after them Berg also followed. "What are you doing Berg?" Cyclops yelled.

"I'm a better shot!" Berg yelled back. Before Cyclops could tell Berg to disengage he fired off his payload. He shot down T'Kalla and her wingman. Cyclops screamed in frustration.

Berg fell back and Cyclops went in with Eight Ball. Cyclops got the target lock on one but before he could fire his fighter exploded.

"Oops, Misfire!" Eight Ball told Cyclops over the comm. "I'm sorry but I'm not used to these controls yet."

Cyclops yelled profanities at the top of his lungs and banged on the fighter dash.

Berg howled with laughter. "Dumb ass." he smirked. He was enjoying the fireball that was Cyclops. sadly he wasn't watching his course and crashed in to a freighter, setting it ablaze.

Leaderless, both Taffy and Eight Ball decided to chase after on of the Jem'Hadar. They didn't coordinate their flight plans and crashed into each other.

Teval buried his head in his hands, laughing uncontrollably, while Wukari face palmed herself saying, "Wow, what a train-wreck."

Boomer sighed softly. "I knew the bubble had to burst at some point."
he commented while tapping the display as he regarded the last two Jem'Hadar fighters finish the three freighters then they went after the last remaining Federation fighters, the remainder of 3rd Squadron killed one of them but they in the end, all fell before the Jem'Hadar

"Cyclops, head to the briefing room and keep it quiet... I'll be along to brief you shorty.." there was silence. "Cyclops?"

Meanwhile Cyclops was busy, beating the ever-living shit out of Berg Houges with his fists. "You are going to fucking pay... you stupid mindless fuck.." Houges was too busy screaming to reply as Cyclops was beating on him.

Boomer sighed as he went into the first wing simulator room, as he pushed the two men apart. "Thats enough.." he growled. "Cyclops... go debrief your men..." he turned to Houges. "get up and go to the briefing room, you're not going to sickbay because you were a moron."

Once Ghost Squadron got their green light, Jetfire seated himself in his simulator cockpit and began to dish out several orders. Their unit had only been together about a month, compared to the other units. But still, they had better cohesion than most of the others units.

Jeftfire had Ghost Squadron's command. Phoenix's personal, elite group. Which really, Phoenix had not had too much time to devote to because of a lot of stupidity going on in the air group.

So Jetfire had filled in and over all, the squadron was pretty good. There were three rookies. And each with in a different flight so as not to even out the strengths.

Jetfire chose to put C Flight on the convoy ships while A and B took a CAP stance. And one the Jem'Hadar fighters came out, Jetfire's A and B squadron fired a full barrage that caused the first line of Jem'Hadar to roll out and away. And the opening volley managed to disable the engines of two of the six enemy fighters.

The observation booth was lit up with a calm voice from Jetfire. Collected and ready as he issued new battle orders. He had a great vantage of the convoy and the enemies.

When one of his guys need to pull out, he sent someone from C flight to take their place. But eventually their warheads became dispensed. And the Jem'Hadar fighters were down by two at this point.

Jetfire's strategy was simple. Protect the light frigate at all cost. Which appeared to be a really great strategy, overall. Two of his rookies fell, but not without giving up a very strong fight. And in the end, the heavy frigate took twelve percent hull damage, the medium took ten percent hull damage, and the light took five percent hull damage before they got the remaining enemy fighters.

Boomer went to see his guys. "Okay.. Ironhide and first Squadron got all three kills while suffering one freighter crippled." he commented. "nice work guys." he turned to the second group. "Camshaft and his guys got all three kills but lost one freighter destroyed and one damaged.. not bad guys... both you two squadrons have shown you can operate together..."

He went out he door into the hanger where Cyclops had his twelve pilots all doing pushups, he was doing them as well. "You maggots are all pitifull." he commented before pushing himself ot his feet. "Fifty... not bad."

One of the pilots dropped onto their face. "Oww.."

"Get back up and finish... you didn't give me fifty." Cyclops said evenly. "All of you got killed and all the freighters got killed because of you... Houges. Give me a hundred." he commented. "Give me any attitude and I'll make you wish you were never born."

Boomer looked at Cyclops. "Your Squadron needs more work.."

"Yeah... they do... I got the worst of the worst.."

Eight Ball, who was struggling with her push ups, spoke up. "Excuse me! You do know we're standing right here?" She asked with a little indignation.

Cyclops regarded the pilot who had spoken up. "Yeah. I know." he commented evenly as Boomer looked on, amusement twinkling in his eyes. "Carry on Cyclops, I'll let you hammer this lot into shape, somehow." he commented.

"Yes sir." Cyclops responded.
