Mission: Mission 17: The Drug-Dimmed Tide
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1500Hrs - December 15th, 2390

Chief Petty Officer Toshnarr rumbled something as he blinked open his eyes. "Where am I?" he inquired aloud as he looked around, somehow he had gotten himself into a jeffres tube and had passed out here.

He hauled himself forward as he growled.

A short time later he entered his quarters, the first thing that hit him was the stink which was not right, he came into his food storage area as he found a body, he tapped his combadge. "Toshnaar to Security. I have a dead body in my quarters.." he commented softly. "I do not know how she got in here..."

Senior Chief Petty office Gunther Von Estling, Petty officer Second Class Sky Savali, and Ensign Tienn Iteela where the first responders on scene. Sky was the first one to say something," Oh, Fuck."

Gunther wasted no time, tapping his combadge," Chief Gunther To Lieutenant Commander Saint and Commander Vakar, I need you down at Chief Toshnarr's quarters as soon as possible."

Gunther then turned to Toshnarr," O.k., what happened."

"I was affected by the gas... of whatever it was that had gotten into the system, lying passed out in a jeffress tube four sections away, I came to and was able to get home when I found her here.... I have no idea of how she got here... " he admitted

Tienn meanwhile was examining the corpse. "Chief... I'm going to need to get her to sickbay for a full examination..."

Gunther sighed," No, leave the body there, we need to collect evidence first before we move the body."

Gunther then looked at Toshnarr," Well unfortunately you are going to have to go to the brig until we figure out what happened here, but I know Commander Saint is going to want to question you."

Tienn nodded. "Willdo Chief." and with that she looked around. "Don't touch anything Sky." she said to the other woman as she frowned. "What is that?" she indicated a rather disgusting looking chunk of something near the body's head.

Sky pulled out her tricorder, and then after scanning it replied," A Cardassian Vole."

"Voles... such disgusting creatures.." she paused. "the bathtub is ..... oh Prophets...." she winced. "That's just foul..."

Gunther tapped his combadge, calling Lieutenant John Sheridan this time.

Teval was the first officer called to arrive on scene. he promptly facepalmed, Saying," Ah crap, Jacen is going to be pissed."

A few minutes later, Lieutenant Sheridan showed up with his backpack. "Okay.. whats the situation.?"

Tienn called. "In here sir." she watched Sheridan move toward the bathroom. "Okay. both of you. stay put and let me gather the evidence.." she commented

Teval turned to Toshnarr and said," alright what happened."

Jacen was the late arrival to the party as he adjusted his uniform jacket, his mind was in a million and one places as he pulled out his phaser to check the charge out of habit that actually thinking he had to make use of it. He strode through the door and saw the massive Gorn Toshnarr sitting on his bed speaking with Commander Teval, which caused the human to sigh with annoyance.

Instead he walked up to Sheridan, who had pulled off his backpack and started to arrange everything he needed to start the evidence and forensic collection process. "Catch me up LT, what do we have?"

Sheridan nodded. "Sir, we have one body, female Bajoran, confirmed deceased.. she died right here.. I assume from something she ate but I need to do a full tox screen to be sure." he explained. "How she got in here is the mystery. All the stuff in here looks like reptilian food storage so I'm going to take samples from everything in here and as for the body... I'd like to move it to the morgue for autopsy as soon as I get the chance." he explained. "Lieutenant??, what do you have for us?" he addressed Tienn.

Tienn meanwhile was processing the body. "She has a massive infection from rancid meat sir. she tried eating one of these voles... and the object that got lodged in her throat is what killed her... The Chief might not remember anything sir but... he couldn't have killed her."

"That we know of El Tee." Sheridan reminded her. "We're just starting to process things.. let's not jump to conclusions.."

Teval finished talking to Toshnarr, however he just decided to wait patiently for the two investigating officers to finish their tasks.

Toshnarr sat on his sleeping pallet, his head hung in shame as Sheridan gently tapped the body and had it beamed to the morgue, before he began collecting his samples. "Document everything please ladies.." he commented. "then we can get a clean up team in here.."

Gunther looked at Jacen, saying," So how do you want to handle this one."

Jacen looked at where the body had been, the partially eaten vole that was being bagged up by Sheridan and documented. He turned his attention to look at the distraught Toshnarr. "Let's see what the autopsy says first Chief, but this feels like an accident to me...make sure we have the Petty Officer's statement."

Teval came up and commented, "It will also be prudent to do some blood work on Toshnarr as well, the drug did have him down a lot longer than the rest of us, he only just recently came too. we should also be able to pull up some sensor logs and find out where he was in this fat mess."

Jacen considered the strange looking Arun Kurokuri a moment, speaking in a cool but respectful tone to the acting XO. "Thank you for your input Commander, my people and I know how to do our jobs. I was going to ask the Chief to escort him to sickbay to have those tests done before you came over."

He then turned his attention to Gunther "See to it Chief and get Nasao on pulling the sensor logs."

"Willdo," and with that Gunther escorted Toshnarr out of the room and over too sickbay.

Teval was rapidly losing patience with Jacen, but this time he had little desire to get into an argument, so he just left the room as well.

Meanwhile Sheridan was busy processing his samples. "Well.. I'm gonna haul this stuff down to the lab." he looked to the two female medics. "Lets lock this place down...so nobody can get back in here."

Tienn nodded as she opened her tricorder as she began locking everything down. "Resetting the Environmental controls to preserve everything."

Sheridan nodded his head. "Alright... its going to suck for Toshnarr... but he'll get over it." he commented as he and his two medics exited the quarters before Sheridan placed a security seal on the front door. "Alright.. anyone who wants in here will need me to open the door.."

Tienn nodded. "I'll head down to the morgue and assist with the body..." she turned to the other female. "Come on Sky... we got work to do."

Sheridan nodded. "Alright.. lets go to it."
