Crossroads - Part Three

Mission: Mission 102: Sic Transit Tienn
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard / USS Spirit of Winter
Timeline: 0900Hrs - August 2nd, 2393

Lieutenant JG Tienn Durin was busy breastfeeding her daughter, she was sitting in a chair, presently she was topless with a gentle smile on her lips. Tienn gently held her child as Tienn Noel fed on her mother's milk, one could easily see the Klingon ridges on her head as Tienn Durin smiled gently. "Feed little one," Durin commented. "I am not heading anywhere just yet." she smiled down at her infant daughter.

Durin was wearing a pair of jean shorts and socks, she would be soon donning her bra and a shirt so she could go out in public, she would go visit the science section of this ship. Suddenly the com system beeped at her. "Bridge to Tienn.?"

The young Bajoran smiled as she gently tapped the combadge in her left hand. "Go ahead bridge?" while she held her daughter in her arms.

"You have an incoming message from the Starbase, it's marked as personal for you." came the voice of the ship's Operations officer, Savvanah Yamaguchi who had recently returned from her leave time last week. "Okay, pipe it through down here," she responded.

"Understood El-Tee." and with that, the wall monitor activated, the face of her aunt Nerra appeared. "Hey Durin." the older Bajoran smiled before the smile faded. "is this a bad time?" as she regarded her niece who was half nude with her great niece in her mother's arms.

"Nah," Durin answered with a smile. "What's up Aunt Nerra?" Tienn Durin smiled, clearly, she was not worried about being half-naked in the slightest.

"Well Iteela and I are going to try and get some leave time so we can go back to Bajor and deal with your dad, once and for all, you should come with us," Nerra responded.

"I will. What about our small army of children?" Durin inquired

"That's a good point. We can bring them with us." Nerra responded. "Since I'm pregnant, it'll be a headache and they might get caught up in the issues facing us." she paused. "No, we should leave them behind, besides I doubt Balin would take being separated from me all that well," Nerra explained.

"Aunt Nerra, they could really do with seeing Bajor. I know there are several major events coming up and the kits you and Aunt Iteela have, would all benefit from seeing them." Durin explained. "I need to go and see my boss for leave, I doubt it'll be an issue really."

"Alright. Then I'll leave you to it." Nerra responded with a smile. "Tienn out." and with that, the wall monitor went black as Durin felt that her daughter was finished with her meal. Durin smiled as she gently placed her daughter back into the bassinet near her, she then set about donning her clothing, first her bra and then her shirt, then she activated the holonanny.

The system activated as a Bajoran female in Durin's mother's likeness appeared before her. "Can I assist you?" the holonanny inquired, a smile on its lips.

"Yes, take care of Noel please, I need to attend to some matters and I should be back in forty-five minutes or so," she said to the holonanny.

"Very well." the holographic female responded as Durin pulled on her boots and out the door she went, her next stop was the Chief Science officers office. Tienn was halfway to her destination when she recalled that she was the new Chief science officer that was presently assigned to the USS Spirit of Winter so she decided to go see the skipper. Tienn changed her destination from the science labs to the main bridge where she knew she could find someone who could help her.

Master Chief Petty Officer Suguna Sathiyamoorti was presently seated in the commanding officer's ready room, off to the left side of the bridge and it was here where she held court. Sathiyamoorti kept the door open door to the ready room open as it allowed the crew better access to her and her to them as new officers were coming and old ones were leaving.

There was a knock at the door. "Come in," Sathiyamoorti commented and upon seeing Tienn, she smiled. "Ahh Tienn, you saved me the trouble of calling for you."

"I did.?" the younger woman inquired. "How so?" the Bajoran added.

"I'm making you my Chief of science, effectively a week from now, it'll give you time to get things sorted out on your end." the older woman raised an eyebrow as she spotted the look on Tienn's face. "You're about to throw a wrench into my plans, aren't you?" the older human female inquired in a slow and soft tone of voice.

"I'm Sorry Master Chief," Tienn answered. "I need some leave time so I may go home and deal with an issue that has been permitted to fester for way too long." the young Bajoran explained.

Sathiyamoorti frowned. "What do you mean?" she inquired in a gentle tone, as she indicated the chairs before her desk. "Those aren't for decoration. Help yourself." she then sat back in her own chair. "Please sit and explain what's going on... The curiosity is killing me."

Tienn Durin smiled as she slid her slender form into one of the chairs. "My father had two of my aunts declared as apostates for failing to follow the will of the prophets and me for having a child out of wedlock," Tienn explained.

Sathiyamoorti growled ever so softly. "How long do you need?" Clearly, this angered the Master Chief.

"A month," Tienn answered. "I need time to get there, deal with this and then return," she added.

"Done." Sathiyamoorti then slowly sat back in her chair. "Please, cram your foot up his backside for this insult." she paused as she smiled. "I will clear this with Captain Sheridan." she paused as she tapped her combadge. "Computer, page Captain Sheridan that Lieutenant Tienn is going on leave and we will be without her for a month. A family emergency has arisen."

Tienn raised an eyebrow, she had not been expecting this and it was showing too. "Uhh, yeah, will do."

"Good. one month of leave time granted. I want you back when?." The older female inquired. "Around the first, you can handle dealing with your new department at that time, off with you."

Tienn smiled as she turned and left, she tapped her combadge on the way out. "Tienn to Tienn. I'll see you at the local starport in an hour."

At the appointed time and place, with all of their documentation, bags and other items, stood three Bajoran females, a small army of Caitian children of various sizes and Balin. "So. where are we heading again?" Balin inquired.

"Planeside. We're going to visit our mother." Tienn Nerra commented with a smile.

"Ahh," Balin responded as he followed the Bajoran females and the small army of Caitian children into the starport, they went into customs and showed their documentation before reaching their flight. They boarded quickly and without fuss.

A short time later, the transport was underway as the Caitian children all settled into getting to know each other and generally operating as children normally did. Balin meanwhile seemed to zone out with a PADD in his hands as he was still working on learning how to count. It was more or less all he ever seemed to do these days. Tienn Nerra did not mind as she had gone out of her way to encourage his pursuit of knowledge.

Tienn Nerra smiled as she relaxed, she closed her eyes as she drifted off to sleep, it was more of the same with her twin sibling who likewise zoned out as she fell asleep so Tienn Durin settled in to take first watch in watching all of their children.
