Personality & Traits

General Overview Austin is a veteran fleet officer that likes to see a smooth running ship. He likes to run things by the book. That doesn't mean he blindly follows it either.

Like many Star Fleet officers, he enjoys drinking coffee.
Strengths & Weaknesses Austin is an experienced officer. He knows tactics and he is cool under fire.

Austin is distrustful of officers that are in the fleet to climb the career ladder. He also distrusts scientists or those working in research fields.
Ambitions Austin enjoys commanding ships as opposed to having a position on a station.

Personal History Austin was born on the agricultural world of Dracosan IV. He worked on his family's farm and was a jock in school. While he was happy to stay and work on the farm he applied for and was accepted into the Star Fleet Academy.

He was a mediocre student but excelled at sports. He also did his share of time drinking, chasing after women, and getting into brawls. He acquired a number of demerits. He graduated as a Tactical officer.

His first duty was aboard a smaller ship patrolling along the Klingon border. His crew did deal with a few Klingon and Orion pirates and Austin gained a lot of combat experience. He also got into trouble. He was involved in more than a few bar brawls with Imperial Klingon officers. One of his opponents even managed to break his skull and a few other bones.

After his tour of duty he was promoted to Lieutenant junior grade and assigned to a new ship. It was shortly afterwards that the ship was involved in the fight against the Borg at Wolf 359. His ship fought bravely but was hopelessly outgunned. His ship was mostly destroyed.

Even though Austin's ship was blown apart, he and a few of the crew managed to jury rig a small life support bubble. The few survivors scrounged up a survival pack and huddled together for several days until a recovery patrol rescued them.

After his ordeal at Wolf 359 he was assigned to a larger warship. The ship conducted patrols along the Romulan neutral zone. He performed his duties well and stayed out of trouble. He soon earned himself a promotion.

Austin then found himself on a large warship. His department head was a Commander and didn't care much for Austin. He figured that his department head would sink his career. Fate would soon change things. The Klingons declared war on the Cardassians and in turn the Federation declared war on the Empire.

His vessel soon engaged a Klingon warship and got the worse end of it. Austin's department head left his post during the battle and was relived of command shortly thereafter. His new department head was impressed with Austin's conduct during the battle and gave him a good review.

The galaxy changed again and now the Federation was fighting the Dominion. His ship was in a sharp skirmish with dominion ships and the ship's First Officer was injured. Austin's department head became the new first officer and Austin now the Tactical department head.
