Personal History		MacLeod was born in Glenfinnan, Scotland in 2352. Raised in a traditional Scottish household, MacLeod or Mac to his friends, traveled across Europe on Earth during his teen years, during his travels, Mac learned German and French as well as some Spanish and Italian. Not only did he learn the languages, he learned to respect the customs, food, and traditions. This instilled a desire to explore in Mac that eventually lead him to join Starfleet. Paul joined Starfleet Academy in 2370 and while he did well, his training was marred but a couple of incidents with two Cardassian classmates and a Klingon classmate, all of whom didn't like him or his scottish attitude to life, naturally things got heated and the four spent more then one night in the brig as a result of this. He Graduated with honors however and he was assigned to the USS Thomas Jefferson, the second of the new Dreadnought variant of the Galaxy class that was just starting to be produced, mostly to fight the Borg and not the Dominion. It was while assigned here that he met and fell in love with the ship's Chief Medical Officer, Pandora Heatherson. After months of dating, the two married. During this time, Mac became close friends with Lt Commander Jake Yamaguchi, a friendship that exists to this day. A year into the war Paul ended up assuming command of a ship that had been almost broken during the battle for Benzar. Rather then wait for her to be repaired, he went to another ship. The USS Tyber which was a new Akira class ship and since he was now a Lieutenant junior grade, he could serve as a department head and their medical staff was always happy to have new doctors so off they both went. However what started well did not end well as the USS Tyber was almost destroyed during the battle in the chin'toka system and while the system fell to the Federation alliance forces, Paul ended up being reassigned elsewhere and command decided that he had seen enough of the war, they moved him and his wife elsewhere. He and his wife were to be assigned to Starbase 185 but he never got there. For Paul, he regarded it as little better then an insult as he wanted to see the war though to its end so he stuck in for assignment back to the war zone. Jake Yamaguchi accepted his request and the man was posted to the USS Courageous along with his wife too as Yamaguchi cited simply. "Lieutenant MacLeod wants to fight. I say we give him the chance." Command agreed with Yamaguchi and thus, Paul MacLeod was assigned to the Courageous as the assistant chief operations officer and here he remained for the next six years, welcoming first a daughter then a son and then a daughter. His service aboard the Courageous was notable and he garnered much respect for himself and his small family from the Captain and crew of this vessal. In 2382 he was offered a chance to become second officer on the USS Greyhound and while he spent much time here commanding bridge watches and leading away teams, he relished it as he grew to like the taste of command. He served here until he was offered the chance to gain his own command instead of following others. The ship in question was the USS Southsea Caste, on her last tour before decommissioning and scrapping as was happening to most of the Excelsiors these days, the class was being replaced en mass by the new Explorer class starship. He served aboard the Southsea Castle for two years before becoming her Exec but he was not offered her command as she was scrapped in mid 2391, he was instead offered command of the USS Vindictive and he readily accepted her, his wife was to come along as his Chief Medical Officer and alongside them would come their children too.
